FJ cruiser issue
I had the same thing happen yesterday. I took it to the dealer, and they said the Catalytic Converter was bad and they needed to order a new one. You should take it to the dealer.
Side mirror lights inop
This is not a DYI fix....see dealer. The mirror has to be disassembled to get at the bulbs....and it is a bear to do.
Location of crankshaft sensor
As you face the engine from the front bumper, it is on the lower right side of the engine, below the oil filter and kind of in line with the crankshaft pulley. Should be the only thing in that location with wires going to it. good luck!
40 amp Abs fuse keeps blowing
in engine bay?
you have a short.
and the fuse stopped the fire.
i have a current limited power supply that allows me to do this easy
but other us a circuit breaker at the old fuse.
then drops loads until the breaker stop popping.
there are other way, most blow a box of fuse.
the 3rd way
is to drop all loads on that fuse. (new)
and then put them back 1 by 1, BAM , now you know.
ENGINE CODES
Whenever engine fault codes set, VSC is disabled and lights come on. P0020 shows failing cam shaft position sensor , recommend replace clear codes and recheck. gas spill was coincidental.
Shaking with engine light and VSC Off lights turned on
If just found this on another forum:
A few days ago I started the Cruiser and had 4 indicators stay lit.
They were the CHECK ENGINE...SLIP INDICATOR..VSC TRAC..VSC OFF.
Didnt noticed any change in driving and 4-wheel drive is still working.
I removed the negative cable from the battery and the same indicator lights have NOT
come back. Everything is back to normal as far as warning lights go.
Should I take it in to the service center and have it checked.
Or should I wait to take it in, if it does it again?
