2006 Highlander - Check engine light and VSC light on. What does this mean?

you will need to hook up a scan tool, I know many parts stores will loan you one or let you use it in the parking lot, VSC could have something to do with a wheel mounted speed sensor, did you hit something? any noises, try this and see if it goes away
    • 1 Shut off the vehicle's engine and apply the parking brake to protect yourself while working on the vehicle.
    • 2 Open the vehicle's hood and examine the engine compartment. Locate the air filter box mounted to the left of the engine. The air filter box features a black exterior, square in shape, and a large ribbed intake hose.
    • 3 Check all of the small black vacuum lines surrounding the air filter box. Reconnect any disconnected or loose vacuum lines you find.
    • 4 Start the engine and drive the vehicle to clear the "VSC" warning light displayed on the dashboard. If the VSC light fails to go out after driving the vehicle normally, proceed to the next step.
    • 5 Park the vehicle, turn off the engine and set the parking brake. Open the vehicle's hood and disconnect the battery's negative cable for 15 seconds, using an appropriate size socket. Disconnecting the negative battery cable will reset the vehicle's computer and clear the "VSC" warning.

i would chande the plugs at or around 60,000 to 70,000 miles. this is about the correct mileage. they may last longer but not worth the expensence of converter damage due to misfire and also gas mileage loss.

Reverse light wiring diagram

The easy way to find out what was the positive or the negative without knowing the wire color code or without using the tester,,,is.. cut the bulb's line you want to know. Scratch them one by one to the unpainted vehicle's body,,If the wire has built a spark?.. That is the POSITIVE.

How do I reset the low tire pressure warning light on my 2006 highlander

Once ALL tires have the proper amount of air pressure in them the computer will reset the light. This may take as long as a couple of days (depending on how long you drive the car). Some take as long as 30 minutes of continuous driving to reset. However, you need to be sure that ALL tires are properly inflated, EVEN THE FULL-SIZED SPARE, if you have a full-sized spare tire.

Many cannot be removed or unscrewed. If it is telescopic, shorten it as much as you can. If not and you are still concerned, visit a handwash facility. These are common.
