2001 Toyota Avalon quits when at idle

Just had the same problem on the 2002 Avalon. Pulled the throttle body off and removed and cleaned the Idle mixture control valve which was caked in deposits. Runs like new now. About 2 hours of work or less. Common problem with this model I heard. Hope this helps. Some one gave me this info over a year ago and I finally got around to doing it.

The battery went completely dead, when I charged

Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 to 15 minutes and reconnect. See if that helps.

Pulley wont turn

I believe the pulley below that is for you A/C compressor, which also has a clutch on it that will only turn when the ac is turned on, but the inside pulley should always spin. If the ac clutch doesn't turn on with the ac turned on then you may need to get it spaced. any more questions just email me on this site.

The 12+ is coming from the fusebox. The ground is the body of your car..Get the power from the fusebox terminal labelled Accs (Accessories) 12+ and connect it to the 12+ of your CD deck. Connect the ground of your CD deck to the car body. Test your CD deck with the speakers. press or turn the power on. This will solve your problem.

2001 Avalon was dead (battery). Won't start or jump

If the battery is fully charged there is but one thing tjst gives you those symtoms. You simply have a bad connection at the negativbattery cable. It won't hurt to ck the positive cable also. This os a common thing when a battery is connected and idle..Always disconnect the bat neg if the the vwhicle won't be used for more than two days. If possible, don't charge your dead battery with the alternator of the vehicle. It could very possibly cause charging problems. The clickinf is from insufficient voltage and jump stating with te dead battery still in place doesnt work because the goog and bad batteries are try to balance again, causing low voltage/amps to the starter. Good Luck. Sorry about the lesson, habit.

Toyota avalon headliight lamp replacement

there is a single phillups screw that hold the turn signal housing to the head lamp. remove this screw. after that the turnsignal housing will be loose but act as though something is still holding it. I usually take a small flat tip screw driver and place between the headlight and turnsignal housing about a quarter of the way down and pry the turn signal housing forward and out at the same time while puling with my free hand. Since this lamp fixture is difficult to get a grip on, the flathead screwdriver is used only to help pull the lamp fixture from the fender. After the fixture is in the open the actual lamp socket twist locks into position from behind. once the socket is removed the bulb simply slides straight out from the socket. Installation is reverse of removal.

Help! Air conditioner causes squeal soon after turned on

The ac is belt driven, If one of the belts are loose it will make a squealing noise. Turning on the air puts more strain on the belts. If this is the case all you would have to do is tighten the belt or belts. This would probably take a service tech just a few minutes. Probably under $100.00 dollars..........
