Bad idler puller or tensioner pulley.

The timing chain should not routinely need changing, but perhaps the tensioner does. Try first to eliminate any other causes, like the bearings in the fan, drive belt idlers, or alternator. A useful tool is a long screwdriver which you can apply to the various areas while placing your ear to the top of it while the motor idles.Be very careful to keep clear of moving parts like fan blades.

On older Celicas (maybe on yours too) there is a 15 amp EFI fuse in the fuse box by the battery. Check for that. If it's out, the fuel pump and the ECU will not come on.

The headlight control switch is on the steering column. To replace the switch remove the plastic trim covers over the steering tube to reveal the switch and connectors. Disconnect the battery negative cable before starting work, this is a must. Below is a picture of the switch.

Heater Housing

• The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.

• Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
• Remove the heater coolant hoses.
• Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
• Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
• Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
• To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.

When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.
