Firing order for 1998 four runner
Rotation goes in a clockwise direction and the firing order is
1-2-3-4-5-6

The Number one plug is first plug on Pass side looking at the
engine # 2 is on driverside and so forth for all plugs.
Finding Backup lights switch on 98 4Runner
Is this a manual or automatic, makes a big difference. Id it is a automatic the backup light switch is part of the range selector switch, if it is a manual it will be on the side of the transmission, I can show you both parts in pictures below.

My brake pedals go hard when Im coming to a stop then gets soft
According to WinBrake.com: "Air in the System A spongy pedal is usually a sign of air in the system. Air may have got in through the master cylinder because the fluid level is low. If this is the case, refill the system with the correct grade of brake fluid, then bleed any remaining air out. Often the cause is simply that the fluid is leaking from somewhere in the system. It's usually pretty easy to find the leak if there is one, and once found it should be fixed straight away. Toyota 4runner timing belt or chain?
60000 or 48 months on belt which is used on the 5VZ-FE motor. The 2RZ-FE and 3RZFE are chain and there is no clear information about changeing them as a maintenence. i hope this helps.
