2006 Peugeot 405 - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I changed the battery on my peugeot 407 and now
this is becoming a common fault on the 407 you need to unplug the power leads to the mas motor located under the bonnet on the inner wing (its the plug with only 2 thick wires going to it) and check terminals for corrosion. If they are corroded you will need to replace the terminals. If it still does not work then i am afraid you will need a new pump (not a cheap job to do)
let me know if this helps
cheers big mike

Antipollution fault in my car
It's a wonder the belt and the sparkers have resisted so long beyond their certified end of life. If you have maintained the car in this way no wonder you now have so many problems - a lot of other parts have reached their end of life long ago and must be immediately replaced. To be sure perform a full revision of the car, starting with the breaks - the fluid in them should have been replaced every 2 years.
The information screen on my
new panel complete and its not cheap and only available from peugeot ,think the last one i bought was something like 500 euros or was that a seat ???? anyway the only way out is to replace the whole unit
The "Check Engine" light does not go out. The
You can go to any good auto parts store and ask to borrow their ECM analyzer. Find the connecting plug (usually by the drivers left knee), connect the analyzer and turn your key to the ON position (do not start the car though). The ECM analyzer will read the codes in your cars computer and tell you why the light is on. You will also have the option to RESET CODES so you can see if the light resets and stays out.
Common problems (usually identified by a display of "factory code XXX: on the ECM analyzer) are:
A bad "batch" of gas.
Loose fuel filler cap.
Misfire (usually caused by using other than premium gas in an engine such as yours).
If it is something wrong with your emission system, the ECM analyzer will point you in the right direction. Good luck!
Anti pollution light, ESP ABS, engine warning
Those are multiple problems. ABS is antilock brake system. Normally this comes on when you need to replace your brakes. Also replace the engine oil in your car and have your car tuned. The check engine light will more than likely go off. If not then the mechanic will tell you what needs to be done to make it go off. Hope this helps
In the last week when trying to start my
just put it into peugeot because in your job with the hours you cannot afford to play around,Doesnt your company have its own fitters ??? because fleet fitters are the best as they can repair anything ,so while your out driving your seddon atkinson or foden with the garner engine and 12 speed air operated gearbox they should be only to happy to fit a solonoid to the starter motor ,as this i think is failing with a high resistance in the coil causing the fuse to blow.,Now real fleet fitters should be able to strip and rewind the coil for you ,and if need be use the lathe and make a new part as well for you .Now as the so called service assistance mechanics like the AA/RAC well these are not real mechanics or the cream like fleet fitters but failed mechanics who become receptionists or so called breakdown call mechanics who do not like getting their hands dirty unlike the cream of all--- the fleet fitter ---who work away in all weather laying in a motorway service area in the snow changing a alternator on the side of the motorway or unfreezing frozen air pipes with a flaming rag tied to their favourite tyre lever or bringing you out a couple of gallons of old engine oil when you have blowen up the engine through not checking the oil level and fixing it so you dont get the sack .
