whenever the engine is hot, the oil spits out from the the dip stick in droplets. no smoke, no blow by, no oil consumption. what s causing the problem? would this be ok?
Have you checked for a PCV valve plugged? Not sure if there is one an that, but would sure look for one. Crankcase ventilation somewhere.

I'm currently replacing the spark plugs and wires on my 1999 daewoo lanos sx, and pulled the wires off before labelling which goes where. I found several pages showing me that the spark plug order is 1, 2, 3, 4 from left to right, looking from the front of the engine, but the box where the other end of the wires connect runs perpendicularly to the line of spark plugs, and appears to have no markings on it. Looking from the front of the car, the wire connections are in a single line heading away from me. Which plug wire goes to which port?!?
The only thing I can find online is the firing order, but I don't think this is what I need. I tried hooking the wires up in that order (1,3,4,2) from back to front so 1 is furthest away from me, and 2 is closest, and it runs, but sounds worse than before. I tried reversing the order and it won't start at all now, tries to turn over, but won't actually start.
I even have the 2 volume maintenance manual for the car and can't find this information anywhere in there! Everywhere says I should have labelled the wires before removing them - thanks, bit late now!
Any help?
Thanks,
Mark
spark wire order of daewoo lanos is 1423 with you facing the engine; spark 1 is on th extreme left then 2,3,4 ..insert them as 1 (extreme left) is the highest to be plugged in, under which insert 4 then 2 then 3 at the bottom, hope it helps

i need to remove interior door pnel to remove dent in door
Answer There is a small black plastic piece that surrounds your door handle. You MUST take that off, I find a small flat tip screw driver works best. The plastic cover that goes on the inside part of the door where your mirror is should be removed, makes it a lot easier to remove door trim: No screws on that part just grab from both sides and pull. 3 screws on bottom and 1 screw inside the armrest. The window crank, easiest way tried and true, shoestring, pull handle towards inside of car until you have enough room to fit the shoestring between crank and plastic washer. Give it a pull back and forth and it'll pop right off; clip should stick to shoestring as an added bonus.

immobiliser is not turning off and not allowing the engine to start
is it a stick immobiliser?
If your vehicle does not start and the LED continues to flash while the Ignition is 'ON', this means that the Immobiliser system has not recognised the transponder stick.
Simply turn the Ignition 'OFF' then back 'ON' again. If the Status LED continues to flash, move the transponder stick closer to the key barrel until the LED stops flashing and turns 'OFF'.
If the transponder stick on the key ring does not disarm the immobiliser or the
transponder stick is misplaced, you can override the system by entering a 5-digit override number. Each vehicle has a unique 5-digit override number. This number is recorded on the
customer’s owner’s manual. If the customer loses their owner’s manual / override number, the number can be found by locating the vehicle’s Daewoo Stock Number (D.S.N). The customers override number is the last 5 digits of their D.S.N.
Overriding the system using the example 5 digit code 2,1,0,6,2
Important Note: 10 flashes of the Status LED represent the number ‘0’.
1. Remove the Transponder from the Key Ring.
2. With the system armed (LED flashing slowly) Turn the ignition ON/OFF 5 times, with the final position being off.
3. The LED will turn solid red for 2 seconds and then begin to flash.
4. When the LED flashes twice (2), turn the ignition ON. (number 2 was entered)
5. Turn the ignition OFF and wait for the LED to flash once (1) and then turn the ignition ON. (number 1 was entered)
6. Turn the ignition OFF and wait for the LED to flash ten (10) times and then turn the ignition ON. (number 0 was entered)
7. Turn the ignition OFF and wait for the LED to flash six (6) times and then turn the ignition ON. (number 6 was entered)
8. Turn the ignition OFF and wait for the LED to twice (2) and then turn the ignition ON.(number 2 was entered) The LED will turn solid red, which means the system is now overridden and the vehicle can be started. If an incorrect number is entered in, wait 11 flashes then start the procedure again.
NOTE: This is a one-event override. Once the ignition is turned off, the vehicle will passively immobilise after 30 seconds. If your 5 digit override number does not override the system, the chances are that you entered the wrong number. If this is the case, you’ll need to re-enter the override number
and try it again.

Heating does not work properly. After starting the engine, the vents blow cold air for a long time. It starts to get a bit warmer after maybe ten minutes on the road, but in never really gives a very warm air off. The water coolant level after it has been topped up by adding water, makes a tiny bit of difference, but it has to be topped up every so often.
Apart from that the engine drives OK.
A couple of things..First, if you are having to top off coolant levels "every so often", this indicates that you are loosing coolant. That in itself could be a seperate issue, not necessarily related to your heat, so keep an eye on that, it should be addressed. Secondly, it sounds like either the coolant being circulated in your heater core is not reaching the proper temperature, or there is a blend door that is not properly functioning, allowing cooler air to be blended with your heated air before coming out of the vent. If its the heated coolant causing the problem, there are 2 things to check. #1 make sure the car is reaching the proper operating temperature. You can check your guage, or have a mechanic check the temp. If it is not reaching the correct operating temperature, you will likely have to change your thermostat to correct. #2 you have a valve that allows the coolant to circulate thru the heater core, if it is not opening all the way, this could be the source of the problem. This valve is either in the engine compartment on the inlet hose to your heater core, (near the firewall), or on the inside of the fire wall...may have to stand on your head under the dash. This valve is typically operated by a cable that attaches to the valve and the other end goes to your temperature control lever. Good Luck, hope this is helpful.
