How To Change A Fan Belt On A Jeep cherokee 96
That depends on which engine you have. On v8 engines you need to put a wrench on the tensioner pulley and pull it over. On six cyl and four cyl engines there is an adjustment bolt on the power steering pump. Loosen the pump slide bolts and turn the adjustment bolt that moves the pump in and out of adjustment. (bolt runs under the pump...long threaded rod with a bolt head)

Can a Jeep Grand Cherokee feel safe round corners on tarmac?
Those have coil spring suspension at all four corners. If the springs are weak it can give you a bit more body roll than you'd like to see. Make sure you have four good quality shocks as well. In extreme cases you may want to install the police version of the sway bars on there which are generally larger in diameter and offer more roll resistance as well.

No parking lights and no turn signals
Check all your fuses before doing anything else. If all your fuses are good and the problem still exists then we need to check your bulbs. In some vehicles one burnt bulb can disable the other lights running on that same wiring. Just like flipping a light switch off. If all your bulbs are good then it is surley a wiring malfunction and then the real fun begins. We might have to go into that later if nothing I listed here does the trick. I hope this helps you, The Raz

I would change the thermostat and put a lower temp.one in there so for example if you have a 195 degree one in there go to like a 170 or 180 so your thermastat opens sooner and it shouldn't overheat and also check the timing cause if the timing is off a little under a load it could overheat.

My 1996 Jeep Cherokee's headlights don't come on
It's likely you have a loose connection or a bad switch. I recomend haveing a mechanic look at it unless you are experianced with automotive electric systems. These sort of problems tend to be a nightmare for the "doityourselfer".

I have 1996 jeep cherokee sport 4x4. When I start
Your water pump is starting to seize up. Today's modern serpentine belts don't just slip. Your water pump is dragging. Which is causing the noise and the temperature increase. Get it fixed and you will notice better gas mileage. If you continue to run it like that be sure to keep your eye on the temperature gauge. One overheat or close call has the potential to do big damage to an engine of that age.
