Wiring diagram

Sounds like you damaged something in the wiring harness. Inspect all the wires in the area you were working and also check for wires that were possible pulled or tugged on.

Manual

Your Jeep may have been built using R12 freon. R134 was first used around 1994. If it is R12 the fittings won't work on your R134 recharge kit. Otherwise, you connect the hose fitting to the fitting that is on the low side line. The high side fitting will be too big or too small. Sometimes the low side fitting is on the compressor, sometimes it is in one of the lines.

Why is my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport overheating when the AC is on?

Your jeep has an electric fan which should come on whenever the AC is on or if the temp goes over the 1/2 way point. It is fed by a 20 amp fuse in the engine fuse box. If the fuse continuously blows, replace the fan

Battery good, alternator, starter all good. Fuses good. When turning the key to start there is no power at all. no

Just concentrate for the moment on the battery, starter, and ignition switch. Your 92 jeep is a complicated marvel, but all you need to do is get the starter turning the engine for all those automatic things to happen and turn it back into a mobile jeep.As long as you have battery power at the switch, and even bigger battery power at the starter, and you connect the three of them together...instant bingo, the engine starts, or should if everything is working right. If I understand you right, you do have power to the switch, just nothing in start, or you 'd have noted that. Check engine light on, and warning lights and gauges work, yes? Then the switch is working that much, anyway. The switch start position should transmit power to the starter on the small wire that is on the starter. You can check for power there when the key is held in crank (start). Easy to check with a meter or a testlight. You stated battery and starter are good, so if the cable connecting them is good and tight., your problem may be in the start circuit from the switch to the starter (starter solenoid, to be exact). So it's ign. switch to starter relay to starter (solenoid).. Check for power on that path. Quick check at starter relay: pull the relay out (in the power distribution box) it connects to 4 terminals.. One terminal should be hot all the time. check with testlight. If nothing there, check the 40 amp fuse or battery connection or wiring. If one is hot, then have someone hold the key in crank. Now 2 terminals should have power. If not then ignition switch or the neutral safety switch or the wiring between them needs diagnosing. If two terminals do have power, try another relay. maybe yours went out. If a good relay doesn't help, then starter solenoid or starter or your wiring needs further troubleshooting. Hope you find it, over...

Compresor dont get current

Autozone.com has diagrams for free when you register your car on their site. You can test the low pressure cut-off valve downstream from the evaporator tank by disconnecting the harness from the switch and using a good size wire to loop into the harness. If the compressor clutch kicks in, you have either low system pressure or a bad low-pressure cut-out switch. This is a test procedure. Even bypassing direct as you have done can risk damaging the compressor.Besides Freon, compressors need oil, the right type, and a small amount. There are Freon cans which include an oil charge as well as sealers and conditioners to prevent or fix leaks. Remember that the system has a volume limit and more additives leaves less room for the Freon to work good.If you have low pressure, it is possible that what is left is contaminated. Freon is a gas. Air is a gas. The system was suppose to start with Vacuum negative pressure by using a Vacuum pump(Loaner item). This means that total volume inside your hoses could be wrong. It is easier to understand when you consider the Freon changes back to a liquid and Air needs a much lower temperature to become a liquid. So you lose volume for the Freon to change back from liquid to a gas. It constantly cycles like this to make it transmit heat from the cabin to the outside.I hope my solution is helpful.

I recently replaced the heater

Your heater control valve will only cause you problems if it leaks or fails to switch to "off" in AC mode. It will not cause the engine to run hot. (unless it leaks coolant). You did put the hoses back where they belong?
I'd replace the thermostat as they can get stuck partially open. On a 92 I'd also suspect the radiator as having excessive rust plugging part of the core. Most times flushing won't get the rust out unless it's done by a radiator shop. Normal temp should be near 210 (f). Use a 195 thermostat.
