I have a renault 19 with the same problem on the passenger side front. It is a straight forward job, you will need two jacks, preferably trolley jacks. It would be alot easier (and cheaper) to completely replace the suspension strut itself rather than squeezing a new spring in. Jack up the car then jack the suspension to a point it will hold suspension in place whilst you undo the bolts etc. Once bolts are undone, SLOWLY release the jack on the actual suspension strut and remove the strut. To replace the strut, put new strut in place jack it up into place carefully so you get it to stay in place. Do up all your bolts, Slowly release jack on suspension strut, then release the other jack holding up the car. I would do this with my car, but i cant be bothered as it has numerous other problems and im scrapping it.

your handbrake light for the dash is blown you need to change the bulb

easy problem to solve. open bonet look at bottom of wind screen you may have to take plastic cowl of wiper linkage. 3screws. linckage will have jumped off ball fixing . put some grease on ball slip on linckage will be tight but will go on job done.

open your tailgate and right in the middle in front of your tailgate catch pull the boot carpet back or there might be a little **** in the carpit when pulled back you should see a bolt head remove your wheel brace and apply to the bolt head turn antyclockwise you spare wheel should drop a you turn it,hope this helps.adrian

They should last at least 50000 miles. In some areas where salt brine is used this woul be reduced.

renault gearbox are known to give problems.the clunk you hear might not be in the gearbox sounds more like gearbox mounting i would get it checked first however the whine in fith gear is a differant problem yes i am inclined to agree with you on this one.sorry but it looks like a replacement gearbox is going to be the only answer good luck.adrian

You need to top up your brake fluid right up to the max line - works a treat!!!

Try taking out the lock-mecanism and "grease" with contact-spray. Make sure all electrical-connectors are in good shape at the same time.

you may have a cracked head did you take the head in and have it magnifluxed to check for cracks in the water jacket

go to any auto or batteries stores and they will replace the batteries for u.....or u can do it yourself....

you can drive it for as long as u like it just means your car is due a service due to the miles you have done it will not do anything to the car but when you do service it you will have to get a service center to reset the light or it wont go out

Open the tailgate, lift the trunk carpet, to the right of the lock catch, you will see a nut.

Fit on the wheel brace, and wind anti clockwise and the spare should appear at your feet !

disconnect the washer bottle plug connector. then run alive and earth wire direct from battery to washer motor to see if motor works that way, if does then new need a new washer switch on the steering column. if not then replace washer motor. should work after that unless pipes blocked.

removing the battery causes the computer to de-program. With the engine and ignition swith off, try removing the negative battery cable. Wait a while then replace it. Wait only a minute or 2. This will reprogram the computer . You may have to repeat the process a couple of times. If not the idle position sensor could be the problem.

lose u r tapptets upon the gape of paper width size.... it consume low feul and noisless

almost certainly the heater matrix is blocked, run the engine until hot and feel the two hoses going into the car through the bulkhead, if one is hot and one cold then that is the problem. biggish job dash out and heater box.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but im afraid you need a new radio mate.Had exactly the same problem with my renault megane and ended up going to scrap yard only cost 25 quid and that included it being decoded,been fine since then.By the way don't go to renault i rang them and they wanted 300 quid for one,taking the ****,anyway good luck.

renault megans have a common fault with the doors locking shut and refuseing to open. the centeral locking unit will need replaceing but heres the problem.... the only way you can get the centeral locking unit off is by takeing 3 bolts off. but these can only be accesed when the door is open.

so what to do? gather your weapons of mass destruction (hammer and screw driver) remove the pannel on the inside and the door handle on the outside. then smash and swear and smash and smash untill all of a suddon the door pops open. iv had to do this on 2 meganes now theres no other way. its good fun! play so hate music realy loud and just let it all out lol.
