Car has new fully charged battery yet it will not
Hi my name if Tom and I am here to help you.
If the battery is good and the car will not turn over it is usually the starter or starter solenoid. The solenoid makes a clicking sound when the key is turned.
If you take the starter off, the starter solenoid fits on top of the starter. You can take both to an auto parts store and they will test it for you while you watch.
Now you will hear the click and it will start or not. Sometimes as the starter gets old it heats up when you use the starter a lot(cold weather start ups).
If you need help with how to remove the starter, let me know and I can walk you through it. Also, please take the time to grade how helpful I was to you.
I can then be of greater help to you and others in the future. Feel free to call or email me.

1984 jag xj6 has no power
Hi Clyde
Expect you have it running by now, as I see this was posted 2 March ?
If not......
Charge up your battery, and heavy discharge test, suspect you have short in the plates.
If OK, jump start with a set of proper heavy duty jump leads.
Good Luck !
A FixYa would be nice...Thank´s......John.
I need the firing order for the dist. cap
I sincerely apologize for the late response...Due to the bad economic situation this site has had a substantial (+50%) increase in the number of questions being asked in the last four months.
If you haven't already found this information out Click on the following link. It has the Schematic of the Engine, Wires and Distributor that is color coded.

Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!
Power steering fluid
I would use just power steering fluid. ATF can be used but has a tendincy to "clean out" and sometimes cleans out seals, causing it to leak.
How do I turn of the headrest lights
they should turn off by themselves after a couple of minutes, when you shut all the doors. mine will stay on for about 10 with all the doors open, then turn off. The other thing you should check, do you have the instrument panel light controller turned all the way up, past the click? if you do, they will stay on then too. hope this helps
No heat
I have the similar problem with both my Jaguars, one is a 1988 Jaguar XJS, the other is a 1987 Jaguar XJ6, both blow COLD air out some vents while it blows warm air for heat. I heard it had something to do with the cold air blowing as a dehumidifier, I don't know if this is true, but it is really annoying to have both cold and warm air blowing when I need heat in these cold Canadian winters. If you find out please drop this website a note and let us know how you solved it. thanks.
What does the 'V' in the tire size 205/70VR15
V is up to 149mph. You should never go "down" a rating on the basis of "I never do that speed" because the rating takes into account lateral forces induced by cornering.
See link for full range of speed ratings
http://www.blackcircles.com/general/speedrating
You maybe able to change the 15's for 17's but only by reducing the tyre profile (in your case the 70) but need to be aware of hitting the bodywork.
