I lost ignition key to 88 jag, is there a key code

Only the selling dealer of the car new would have that information, other than that you will need a locksmith or the Jag dealer to fix this.

Check "pin" in the hood frame and test with a direct connection from battery.

I have a 1988 xj6

if you can roll them down assuming there power at the switch on the door but not at master switch the master switch may bey goining bad if all of them possible fuse or relay

New brake pad now the

Usually, you can get the warning light to go off by bleeding the air out of the system. Sometimes, the air bubbles will work themselves back to the master cyclinder and reset itself, but that take a few days. Make sure your brake fluid is full also.

Cant locate the fusebox backlights

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You should have a fuse under the hood, on the left. There also is a fuse in the trunk next to the spare tire, battery. Thanks for using FixYa.

Gear shift will not go into reverse nor park

i had a 1987 jag did the something and i took it to a trans mechanic and they said it was the button on the gear selector i don't know what they did but you could try there first. good luck

1988 Jaguar XJ6 3.6L has severe and minor rusts

It depends on the quality of work that needs to be done , so check with two opinions to confirm and decide. Also this can be done with a patch up using iron mesh and fillings. but the job will be only temporary as the cost will be minimal.

That means there is a problem with the oxygen sensor that is fitted in the exhaust
