Does the fuse blow? If yes it is likely that the sensor it's shorted. You will need to remove the timing cover to verify it. Looked for frayed, broken wires.

Unfortunately I do not have the book on that model so can't give you the location however, since you have to get the part anyway go to auto Zone, they are usually cheaper, and when they show you the part on the computer ask them to print the diagram of the location of that part, it is usually in a small Window in the upper left corner. They normally have no objection to doing that. If this fails to resolve the actual overheating issue replace the Thermostat.

Check the fuses. The left and right sides have seperate fuses for the lights. Not sure about the speaker, that might just be a coincidence that it doesnt work. I reacently worked on a hyundai that had the same problem.

I don't think the distributor cap will solve you problem. I would advise looking at the ignition module which is much more susceptible to failure than distributor caps.
