1989 Porsche 944 Questions & Answers
Alarm bypass. alarm system faulty
This had been done many times before....
But it is VERY involved and you HAVE to know what your doing. To bypass the little "chip" in the key, you have to know its resistance value in ohms, then you get a resistor of the exact same value and put it in-line in the wire that reads the chip in the ignition. Then you have tricked the system into thinking that the right key is always there. Like I said you have to know what wire it is, what kind of resistor, and what value to put in. However the payoff is no more expensive keys....keys without the chip will now start the car, sience you have tricked the passkey system into thinking the key has the chip in it.
1989 944 rear repair panels
The rear quarter panels on a car are typically welded on (as opposed to the front fenders which simply bolt on).
They are certainly available and any body shop will be able to order them for you new or used. They may also be able to repair your existing ones without a problem.
Air conditioning
Unless you mistyped, you are talking about two different things.
Coolant and topping it off, has nothing to do with your AC. Coolant is what keeps your engine from overheating.
Your AC probably needs to be recharged and checked for leaks. Bring the car to an AC shop and they should be able to help you out.
If your AC checks out fine, I'd start by looking under the dash. There's a possibility that the flap that moves when you switch from heat to cool is stuck in the heat position.
1985.2 Porsche 944 has no spark
I would take a hair dryer and start to blow dry the coil, all the electrical wires that are attached to the ignition system, is a 12v tester to check primary circuit ( clip the coil + and touch the ground to see if you have elec flow, touch the frame of the car ) if it lit up then I would take the coil to have your mechanic check out if the coil is ok. Then get one of those spark plug wire ignition tester, it just clip on to the ignition wire and turn the motor, just test all 4 wire just to make sure, then the last thing to check is spark plugs, u can remove them but have them rest touching the engine block, turn it over n u shud get sparks going, o/w is the plugs, just replaced them is only like 10-12 bucks each.
Over heating at idle ?
Check for proper operation of the coolant fan(s) and checked the coolant level in radiator after engine cooled off
Headlights do not pop up1985 944 porsche
Check the fuse, if it's good then you likely need to replace the motor or you have an electrical problem somewhere between the switch and the motor. Check the switch first.
