Engine "lopes" at idle or when coasting. Suspect vacuum leak. Possible?

That will do it. Cut back the hose just enough to get past the crack. Caps can be had at an auto parts store.

Engine problems

Hi there:When was the last time the engine was full tuned up? This sounds like a classic ignition misfire! They usually go bad under a load like under acceleration, but can be noticeable at any time.It is very important to have your engine equipped with good tune up parts or you may be causing damage to other components of you car like the catalytic converter which can be expensive.

Possible causes:

Ignition misfire causes by any bad tune up part and or ignition coil or coils.Bad spark plugs, spark plug wires and cap and rotor (if equipped)Wrong tune up parts spark plug, wires etc...

The quickest way to check the ignition components, is by looking closely for leaking secondary voltage. Visual look at all the tune up parts to see if you can see any sparks coming from any of the wires or coil (or coils) when the vehicle is running. If not, you can put your hand on the coil/coils and wires when the engine is running and see if you feel any small voltage leaking form the tune up parts.

It will leak secondary ignition voltage from the tune up parts caused by high resistance from carbon tracking if they are bad. This is very common if the tune up parts are not changed regularly!

If any is found, the tune up parts are simply bad and will need to be replaced! If none is found than you can spray a mist of water on the tune up parts when the engine is running and see if that causes the engine to stumble or run rough at all. Again, if it does, the tune up parts are bad and will need to be replaced.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

My air suspension is going out is there anyway to fix it without buying a new one

Lincoln thankfully used reinforced rubber inflation hoses on 1980 to 84 your hoses are metalcapped meaning the connections have metal while the hose is either rubber or metal tubing Check your airlines to the riser bags if you use soapy water and a brush while the engine is running you can locate a leak at the fittings or in the line itself, If you dont find leaks in any lines then this is where replacement comes into play the airbag itself has two pillows with solid blocking sandwiched between the axle mount and the frame Inside the pillows are valves that control the lift and deflation Sometimes what happens is this: Over time between hot and cold weather you get moisture in the pillows and the lines will deteriorate sending particles into the valves, the particles and moisture over time builds up clogging the valves and will literally seize them up Since the Internal Valves are NOT accessable replacement is the only course of action. Imagine an 18 Wheeler with air ride suspension the Air system has an Air Drier and accumulator biult in on the inline system to drain any moisture from the system thus proctecting your airbags from clogging up Lincoln Used this same concept for luxury vehicles except they left out the Drain systems for moisture build Up.

Passenger window will not go

This could be the result of a few different things.

1) Your power window motor (if equiped) has malfuntioned
2) Your window slide railing could be binding. Since this car is a 1989, dirt and/or impurities could have gotten into the inters of the door causing this problem with your railings binding
3) Your door window switch could have malfinctioned

Driving and it just dies,

Did you check the fuel pressure? It could be working and have very little pressure, indicative of a weak pump. It also needs 12volts. Lower voltage will cause a problem.
