Engine performance problem causes are many. Try this first.
1. Disconnect the battery cables (both of them)
2. Touch/connect the postive and negative battery cables together for 30 seconds.
3. Reconnect the cables to the battery.
4. Drive vehicle to see if this solved the problem. Let me know what happens.
It's probably because of excess paint on the area of the new pads that slide on the bracket and you have to file/sand the paint off. I got the cheap Duralast brake pads from Autozone and they didn't have any paint on the pad and they slid right in. I also made a video of me changing them if you want to see that.
It always starts out in first, it's a 3 speed automatic, that's what automatics do. they start out in first and at about 15-20 miles per hour , they shift to second gear, and when the speed is about 35-45 MPH, the transmission automatically shifts into third gear, or Drive.
Bigger automatics have 4 or more speeds. Till recently, 4 speeds were the norm, and fourth gear was often dubbed Overdrive, as it allowed the engine to run slower in 4th gear, than it had to maintain speed in 3rd gear, drive. It's good, it increases your mileage per gallon of gas, so you save that way, but like all things more complicated, they cost more to fix when something goes wrong.
When you turn on hazards and flashers, do the lights at least come on. First check fuses be sure that they are good. Then check for the flasher relay. The flasher relay will usually be near the driver kick panel. I believe in this vehicle it will be a three prong relay. Good Luck.
their is a way to do it but recheck battery first sometimes the relearn process doesnt work or the fob itself is dead also if auto /remote start will need dealer to flash fob ---- 2002 santa fe and followed programming instructions and eventually was able to program the new remote. But, I did not realize I had to program my existing remote at the same time. Since, I have retried programming both remotes many times with no success--the new one works, but the old one won't. The instructions were: 1) Locate switch under dash, behind fuse box; 2) Turn ignition switch on, but don't start engine; 3) Wait 5 seconds, set memory switch to SET position; 4) Press remote LOCK button; press second remote transmitter LOCK button; 5) Set memory switch to OFF; 6) Switch ignition OFF. 7) Confirm programming by locking and unlocking vehicle.

1.disconect the neg. fron battery.
2.the blower unit is located under the dash and behind the glove box.

5.remove the inner frame scrrews (four screws)
6.remove the blower/evaporator mounting bolts and remove blower motor.
7.tranfer the fan to new motor prior to installation.
8.installationis the reverse of removal.
f.y.i. use pliers to release and remove the clip holdin blower fan to th emotor
Not positive without more info, but since you mentioned hard to steer, check tension on all of your drive belts. Hyundai is bad about not designing enough contact between drive belts and their corresponding pulleys. Consequently, they will squeak, squall, chirp, and cause erratic/hard steering. Many new belts nowadays will "wear-in" initially and need to be re-tensioned soon after installation, or it's possible that the mechanic just did not get it/them tight enough.
Does it act the same way if the A/C is off? It is possible that the the A/C pump was bad or has been over charged (which can cause it to lock up). If its not better with the a/c off, it could be the clutch on the a/c pump. See if the A/C belt can be removed and still keep the water pump rotating (don't want to run without the water pump turning - it will overheat!. If so, remove it and see if it changes anything.
Hope this helps.

if the battery is good it is NOT the alternator. the alternator charges the battery, if it won`t start with a new battery the alternator does nothing to affect the situation. check voltages at the starter motor connections for proper voltages even the wires that the ignition switch supplies power to. if you have proper voltages at the starter you can try hitting the starter while someone tries to start the car. if it starts the starter is worn internally and will have to be replaced.
The usual reason for no compressor action , the system is low on refrigerant.
Did you check for voltage at the applicable fuses? The diagram is for 2.7L engine, automatic hvac.
As you travel down the road does it shift in other gear speed of just stays in that one gear and revs high.Check the fluid condition. Santa Fe uses a VSS to change gear as the RPM increases As you put the vehicle in drive it should gear select for you. The reason I want you to check fluid condition is to make sure the transmission has not failed. The fluid should not be dark like getting black.
