Replace the oil filter after draining the old oil, and" BEFORE "adding new fresh oil, otherwise you'll be dump all that fresh oil, on the ground,while you "TRY to get the new filter installed.

Step 1 Remove drain plug,Drain oil into drain pan
Step 2 Remove oil filter
Step 3 Reinstall drain plug,qnce oil has drained.
Step 4 Fill new filter with oil,lube seal on filter.
Step 5 Install new filter, Add fresh oil to proper level.replace filler cap
Step 6 Run engine check for leaks.

1. After removing the wheel, remove the brake drum. 2. Remove the shoe hold down spring, the automatic adjuster spring and adjuster lever.

3. Spread the shoes and remove the shoe adjuster. 4. Remove the shoe to shoe spring and shoe hold down spring.

you can try disconnecting the battery for 15-20 minutees/ but there may be a different cause have any questions let me know

Ok guys check this out.I ran out of petrol(ok I am a girl!) and the yellow engine light stayed on afterwards.Hyundai said I would have to sell my soul to get it sorted but would be ok to run I t failed it's Mot on emission,but the local garage managed to temporarily fix the problem to get it through.The light came back on after wards-!!! So I did some research on Internet and here's how to reset it yourself-- Take off positive lead from battery,then turn ignition key on to get rid of any stored power.Then pump the footbrake(yeah I wondered why!) for about 20 secs.You will hear allsorts of clicking in the engine as ecu resets.Then reconnect battery lead!! Wallah !!!!
I went armed with this knowledge to the local garage(much to their amusement) and asked if they could reset the ecu,and they said a dealer would have to do it.I said well I know how and asked them to disconnect battery for me(their frowns got deeper by the minute).The rest I did in front of them,They were gobsmacked!!!!
They were amazed and asked me to call in a few days to tell them if it had worked permanent as they had learned something----so far so good!!!!
I f you have a computorised radio make sure you know the reset code for that as it may knock it off.
The ecu resets when you drive away.Now drives like a dream.

I just had my car worked on in one shop, a HYUNDAI ATOS 2000 they fixed a bad windshield wiper mechanism, but after the repair, my airbag light remained illuminated,
the garage mechanic tried with 2 diagnostic computers to
'reboot' my cars own computer, but neither of his devices could communicate with my car,
I had to go to another garage with a proper computer
the repair took only 5 seconds!!
sobs!, they charged me $50 for the 'work'......the first garage evidenlty, touched something, and I had to pay the bill......live & learn,.
before this I tried all the 'tricks' like disconnecting the battery,
first neg, then pos, nothing else worked, damned computers!!

Check your alternator, if you recently had it replaced - make sure that the one you got is correct, if your working on your own.. take a volt meter, set it to dc volts and measure across the battery while the car is running, generally you see around 14 volts, 12+ volts from the battery always and the alternator adds around 2 while running - the weird smell you smell if it smells like a dying rat, it would sound like you will need an alternator - as for your brakes, I'd start by checking the parking brake lever - back to your battery light, make sure all connectors are good on the alternator and also if your alternator does measure 14 volts, turn on all acessories - wipers headlights, radio, blower, rear defogger - this will generate what we call a load, if you then go to your battery you should see the battery voltage not drop below around 13.5 if it does, you probably need an alternator because it's failing to meet the demands of your car. though the lights come on together, it doesn't necessarily mean their in the same circuit - I had the exact same problem with a nissan altima of that year, that came into the shop... all its bulbs were burnt out and it kept having that happen, then other times it was just fine! give that a try, if that doesn't work send me an email at [email protected] I'd be glad to give you advice! Yes that is correct. it should say what type right on the lid. example dot 3 or dot 4.

There is a purge solenoid for the EVAP system and it is item no.# 1 shown in the diagram below. You have to follow the purge valve vacumn hose to find the charcoal cannister if you need to inspect.

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CONTROL SYSTEM
The EVAP and on-board refueling vapor recovery (ORVR) system consists of a fill vent valve, fuel shut-off valve, fuel cut (roll-over) valve, fuel liquid/vapor separator, EVAP canister, EVAP canister purge solenoid valve, EVAP canister close valve, vacuum relief filler cap, and connecting lines and hoses. ORVR system is designed to prevent the release of fuel vapors during refueling. During refueling, as fuel enters the fuel tank, a vacuum is created in filler pipe, drawing air into the filler pipe and tank. Fuel vapor in fuel tank is then forced to the EVAP canister via the fill vent valve and the fuel liquid/vapor separator. A fuel tank pressure sensor is used for detecting EVAP system leaks by comparing pressures inside and outside of fuel tank.

EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve
Fuel vapors are vented into the EVAP canister during refueling and when ignition is off. When engine is at normal operating temperature and engine speed is greater than idle, a thermovalve opens and allows vacuum to open the purge control valve. Canister vapors are then drawn into the intake manifold for burning during combustion. The purge control valve is kept closed during idle and engine warm-up to reduce HC and CO emissions.

in order for your car to come out of park,the brake lights have to come on. it's a safety feature. are your brake lights coming on?if not then check for a blown brake light fuse in the fuse panel. if not that the brake light switch above the brake pedal may have gone bad.or another solution is, are you parked in a bind? with alot of pressure on the transmission? it will take 2 people to get it unstuck. 1st person in car with key on,2nd person rock car back and forth to free it from a bind. sometimes cars[automatics] do this.while the cars rocking try shifting out of park.hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com
