The key is stuck in my 1998 hyundai tiburon

I had a similiar problem twice with a dodge caravan 2004. I can't tell you why, but hyundai service should give you that info even if you didn't buy it there. they supposedly stand behind their product. In my case, the answer was as little as depressing the brake, changing gears, or lifting up a small button that was inadvertently depressed: I forget. Havn't had a problem since, so I assume our car guy took it to the dealer?

Muffler is rotting were it connects with the exhaust pipe what is a quick repair?

Some muffler shops use a metal wrapping that might work depending on the area that is rotting. Also you can try some JB Weld but not sure if the metal is in good enough shape to bond. You might have to replace the muffler if it won't seal and bond over the rotting metal.

Fixing a sputtering problem with my 98 tiburon

HelloThe engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPEDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

Check engine code po563

When it comes to the air bags and the air bag system you really should take it to a professional to have it looked at. Don't try and diagnose yourself for you could cause the air bag to fire off.

Thick white tail pipe smoke

Your vehicle is burning engine coolant. Do not start vehicle until it is repaired; there is a high risk of needing a completely new engine and exhaust.Your throttle body and intake manifolds will need to be disassembled to inspect the gaskets. Further inspection includes the piston rings, cylinders and valve train hardware. How much damage if any is dependent on how hot it was allowed to get, how well the car was built and how much coolant was actually burned through. You can get a general idea of how much that might be by inspecting the radiator. While the engine is off and the cap is cool, take it off and note how much coolant is missing and it's color and smell. It may appear more brown and smell like engine oil. Also check the oil dipstick...it may appear to actually be over filled and have the same appearance and smell as the radiator contents. You may actually also be able to theoretically test for a level of engine damage by how opaque the oil pan contents are and metal content. I have this idea that if you are able to get a cup of that oil and drop a refrigerator magnet into it, swish it around a little and collect a pinch of metal from it...then I'm referring you to an experienced mechanic for that part but I think that's a blown motor.Good luck!

1998 Hyundia Tiburon would stop after engine got

It's a sensor. I had one that was cracked. When the car warmed up the heat caused the crack to expand and the sensor wouldn't work. After the car cooled it was fine until it got hot again. The sensor is probably gone for good now. You would need diagnostics or troubleshooting to determine which one. You can get a hand held diagnostic computer for cars. Some auto parts stores check for free. You could see if any does a loan-a-tool.

Why dont we diagnois this car first. We will do the most popular failure Hyundai has the crank sensor. it is located on the left side of the engine block near flywheel these are failing everywhere. Your car has a TAH or RPM guage we will use this to troubleshoot the crank sensor. Get in the vehicle and try start it as usual as your cranking it if the TACH or RPM gauge just stays at zero (0) you have crank sensor problem and you will need to fix it. you should see it bounce just a tine tine bit. before you decide to replace it go to the crank sensor wiggle the elecrical connector is it loose? and inspect the terminal for proper male to female connection. Now this we trouble shooted for no spark , you may have a fuel pump problem or coil, but this is the most common failure. and yes you can replace the CKR cranksensor I had a girl just do hers

Have the electrical system properly diagnosed. I suspect you have a poor ground connection between the alternator/battery & the chassis (OR - the alternator is failing).

With the headlights on, the

Hi,
This is a common problem with the combination switch which controls the lights, turn signals and wipers etc. You need to get this tested, it sounds like it has a short circuit in the wiring or the switch itself. So have this done and you maybe up for a switch replacement or just a repair to the wiring. You need to get this tested first so you can get a better value of cost.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.

Thanks
