I have narrowed my problem of no working lights on

No, I wouldn't suspect the headlight switch. Something more sinister, more surreal, too: a module, maybe a body control module, or a light control module, probably under the dash somewhere. GM began using a lighting control module (LCM) at least as far back as 1992, tucked unhandily up under the dash, and wired between the headlight switch and everything else in the lighting circuits. Normal to suspect the headlight switch, but the odd conjunction of the car running and the headlights' actions suggest a module (another computer!) may be in there. The headlight switch should have no effect on it if the engine was running or not. You would have to see a wiring diagram in a repair manual to check. I am not familiar with your Hyundai, but if you could find a diagram, you should be able to fix it. If you register for free at autozone.com, giving make, model, year and engine size of vehicle, you can access wiring diagrams and repair procedures. Just look under repair guides.Wiring diagrams were under Chassis Electrical, if I recall.

Door will not open

simple solution. take the panel off of your door, and look for the rod that connects directly to your outside door handle. 9 times out of 10, it came loose because it didn't get inserted properly into the cheap plastic hole which keeps the rod connected to the door handle.

How to change a front wheel bearing on my hyundai excel 1997

You'd have to look up some sort of guide or instructions on your type of vehicle/wheel bearing. But changing it is mainly done using a hydraulic press to get it out, then a pneumatic 'hammer' with special adaptors to press the new one on. Without these, it's possible to do it yourself, but you're going to have a hell of a time. Bearings can be hard to remove even with those tools, nevermind just hand tools. If you do it on your own, it follows the same procedure, you'll just have to find a way to remove the bearing and press the new one in some other way, preferrerably without injuring yourself in the process or damaging other parts near the bearing. Experiment with propping the hub up with/between pieces of wood, placing something over the rim of the bearing (something that won't slip easily or break. ex. socket. also good idea to place wood over this where it will be struck), then pound it with a heavy duty hammer to get it to slip out. Put it back in similiarly, though you risk damaging bearing/race or improper seating.

Transmission slipping

Check the fluid level first. Run car for 15-20 minutes, then check fluid with ingine running in park or neutral. (set parking brake)You must wipe the stick clean and reinsert it all the way and pull out again to get correct reading. You will see the marks where the fluid should be. (top dot or line is full when hot)If low, add the correct fluid. (Parts store will tell you which to use)If the fluid is full or very near it, check the color. It should look like cherry juice. (transparent pinkish red)If the fluid is very dark, brown, or even near black, you need a transmission flush. Should run between $65-$130 at your local oil change place. This can help if the internals of the transmission are not broken. I had a 2002 elantra, and the flush fixed my issue. A friend had the same issue on her 2001 elantra and she needed a rebuild. Let me know what the end result is.
