This can be caused by dirt build up in the air gap in one of the sensors. carefully clean around the sensors with a tooth brush and water
DO NOT JET WASH! If this does not work check the connections to the module found in the bottom LHD Side of the boot, sometimes the plug connections are affected by water/damp. I had the same problem - pulled the plug off - remade it and sprayed with silicon spray to keep away damp - and its been no trouble since. If non of this works you may have a faulty sensor or unit.

theres something wrong with the anti theft either in the key or the switch or if this is key less the remote

its the senser switches =loose,not contacting thetrunk lid the wire to them loose adrift,fuse gone

there are several u joints on a jag. you will have to figure out wich one or replace them all. any reputable repair shop that gives a written estimate with a warranty will be ok. but pay the shop you pick to rediagnose the problem.it might not be a u joint.if they diag. it and then repair but problem is still there then they would be obligated to fix it again.

I had this problem about a year ago on my 2004 S Type diesel. It's not uncommon and the end result was that it's a wiring fault in the front wiring harness. This is a major hassle to fix and involves taking the fron bumper off. The Jag main dealer did this but the problem came back. I checked other forums and it seems there was a batch of rogue wiring harneeses which Jag bought cheap from Romania in 2004 and fitted to S types. These had moisture in them when manufactured so eventually most of the wires corrode over time - but from the inside! Jag know about this but will not fix under warranty. I ended up spending £1200 to have a whole new front wiring harness fitted - problems gone away now.

P0066 = air assisted fuel injection (AAI) control circuit malfunction.
P1380 = VVT Solenoid circuit malfunction bank 1
P1385 = VVT Solenoid circuit malfunction bank 2
P0353 = IGNITION SIGNAL COIL C FAULT. P1380 Variable cam timing solenoid A malfunction. Bank 1 cam solenoid located underneath intake manifold. The bank 1 solenoid is under the passenger side valve cover on the V8. On the V6 it's under the valve cover as well but the intake needs to be removed.

Sounds like an EGR issue or you need to get the bands re-adjusted on your transmission.

Not the easiest of jobs. Remove the engine cover. then remove the oil filter housing wich is the black plastic cylinder with the 32mm nut on top.

You should then see the glow plugs to the left and right of where the oil filter was situated. There is a plastic strip that clips onto the 3 glow pugs on either side of the engine. Remove that and you should then see the glow plugs remove and refit in reverse order

the only switch i can think you are talking about is an inertia switch.
It is located in passenger side just above the floor,

The S-Type fuel pump is a complicated 'returnless-system' with an
electric pump on the right side and a 'jet-pump' on the left side
to pump fuel back to the right side. The tank is a 'saddle style'
tank with a 'HUMP' in the middle where the driveshaft goes so the
right side is the side where the fuel need to be to go to the
engine. Sometimes the left jet-pump gets clogged and even if the
gauge reads some fuel level other than empty, the right side might
be empty. You can pull the rear seat cushion and some cover screws
to get to both the electric and jet-pump covers to look into the
tank sections.....

The link is a person who wants to add bluetooth to his jag, follow the thread it sounds like an expensive option$1500. Your phone maybe compatible bit only if you have the option fitted.

No need to grease the pads , the rubber film you see is the same thing its just been built in to the pads today..

If the squeak is coming from the differential it is most likely the yoke bearings or the carrier bearings. fixing this problem requires the removal of the U-joint and the taking the diff. apart by unbolting all the bolts that run around the outer rim of the diff. but you need to drain the fluid first and it will require a new gasket, or high temp silicone. there is mark on the caliper itself you need to take the wheel off and look at it

the cap can stay on, the handbrake will come off with the calipers just make sure its in the off position.
