The EVAP system purges any build up of vapours from the fuel tank and burns them thro the engine at pre-detemined times. This is done by means of the EVAp solenoid which when energised allows engine vacuum at one side to **** the vapours from the other side and pass them thro engine. Look for the black solenoid with two vacuum pipes and two wire plug on it. think you may be correct and have disturbed it when doing the air filter.

I don't know about this particular car, but you may have a relay problem as all the functions on main lights are done by relays due to the high current required, I would say your fuses are okay as you can get all the lights lights to work using a different control relay - if I have understood you correctly.

Where is the battery
Right hand side of the luggage compartment, right near the spare tire.
You will need to remove the floorpanel and a small cover over the battery.

Transmission
The best thing to do is have the car put on a lift, you may have damaged the gear selector switch, but before racing ahead to overhaul have it checked for external damage, trans overhauls are very expensive, here (USA) $2000-3000, not cheap.

Adjust headlamps on 2008 Jag Vanden Plas
- Park your car on a level surface, facing a flat wall or garage door. Make sure the car is at a normal operating temperature and that the headlights are turned on.
- Open the hood and locate the headlamp adjustment screws. These are usually located at the back of the headlamp assembly, near the firewall. There should be one screw that adjusts the vertical aim and another that adjusts the horizontal aim.
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to adjust the screws. Turning the vertical screw clockwise will lower the beam, while turning it counterclockwise will raise the beam. Turning the horizontal screw clockwise will move the beam to the right, while turning it counterclockwise will move the beam to the left.
- Adjust the headlamps one at a time. Cover one of the headlamps with a thick cloth or cardboard to prevent any stray light from affecting your vision while you adjust the other headlamp.
- Aim the headlamps so that the center of the beam is at the same height as the center of the headlamp lens. The horizontal aim should be straight ahead, with no visible lean to either side.
- Test the headlamps on a dark road to make sure they are properly aimed. If you notice any unevenness or misalignment, make further adjustments as necessary.
- Close the hood and enjoy your properly adjusted headlamps.
It's important to note that if you're not comfortable working with car electronics, or if you're unsure about any of the steps involved in adjusting your headlamps, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or authorized Jaguar dealership for assistance.
Where is the fuel pump fuse for 2001 jaguar vanden plas
if its a v12 or super charged vehicle it has two inside the fuel tank, only one pump if it normal aspirated, remove the tank and you will find the pump/s under the round panel on top of the tank with the fuel level sensor/ you will need some pipe release tools to get the flow and return pipes out of the bottom of the tank, a bit of a pig to get to has they are under the vehicle above the differential, but have self sealing valves in the bottom of the tank so you dont get soaked!
