Need a tranmission for 1996

these are sold used at junkyards, or recyclers as they are now called, and are sold rebuilt at transmission shops. more than a little work to swap them in and out.

there is a different gear ratio for the SOHC SL1 and the Dohc SL2, make sure donor car is the same engine type as yours. and the transmission should be the same, auto or manual, or you have a lot of refitting to do.

I own a 1996 Saturn

If your pump is in with the timing belt, then I would recommend that you replace it also. Your best off getting the timing belt kit, it comes with the belt and pulleys. It is a little more , but you only want to do this job once. You don't want to go back in there because you didn't change that one pulley

My turn signals aren't working.

first,, if the light comes on but doesn't flash, its not the fuse you need but the flasher unit, either way , the fuses are under the dash on the drivers side, by the left side of the dash,, the flasher unit is usually behind the fuse box , the flasher will fit 1996-2001 cars

OBD will not pass on

The 4 cylinder engine in your 1996 Saturn SL doesn't use a cam sensor. I know, then how could there be a code for the cam sensor? Well, The electronic ignition (EI) module supplies a signal to the PCM whenever it determines that the #4 cylinder fired on its compression stroke.

You should start by checking to make sure your spark plug wire terminals on the ignition coils are not corroded. Using a multimeter, check the resistance and continuity of each ignition wire. If your car is misfiring, replace your spark plug wires and have the code cleared at your local AutoZone or Advance Auto, unless you have a code scanner.

If the code comes back, most likely you have a bad crankshaft position sensor throwing the code. While the engine is running there should be a +5 volts on the crank sensor everytime the magnetic pickup reads the crankshaft. Using a multimeter you can check the voltage to see if the sensor is functioning properly.
