I have 1994 saab

Yes, this is the most probable cause.  But it could also signal that you lost all the oil thru a leak (i've seen cases in which the plug of the oil pan has fallen off). You should take your car directly to a shop, if the engine works even for a little time without oil it will be ruined.

How to install MISSING hood

Hood Cable Removal & Issues Hood cable failures are common on the Saab cars. The typical issue with the cable is that the end breaks off causing the cable to no longer open the hood. In-order to open the hood when this happens one must push a screwdriver between the hood and the grille and push the hood release back in-order to release the latch. Replacement of the cable is the only cure.

Visit Saab Site 9000 for other FAQS.

I hope help you with this. Good luck.

I have a 1988 saab

I had the same thing happen. There is no manual release, which means you have to replace the fuse that is blown causing it to lock. It was the central lock fuse in my case. But as I was almost out of gas and at the gas station, I had to pry it open....Not the best thing but it worked.

1997 saab 9000cs 2.3t won't start;2 days ago

Just a thought. How low was the tank when you filled up. I know alot of sediment builds up and have heard of similar problems. So I have made a habbit not to go below 1/4 tank to prevent from clogging the fuel system. That is what I would check. It sound like you have a good hold on the mechanical aspect. Verify your fuel inlet screen at the tank or the filter is not clogged. Only other thing I can reccomend after that is have a reputable shop do a systematic pressure check on the lines starting from the fuel source. Good luck.

Bent push rod

Check the compression on that cylinder and the adjacent cylinder. If it is not too difficult, it would be good to check all of the cylinders. If there is leakage on the adjacent cylinder there's your problem. The engine is getting pressure on number 8 when the lifter is in the wrong position at the bottom of travel and the pushrod can't help but to bend. If you have a warranty, have the valve springs on 8 checked for proper strength I.E (190 pounds). There should be specifications for this motor.

Saab 9-3 engine into 9-5

the engines are different model engines since they run off the computer im thinking that you need to set the computer to the 9.3 since the specs run the 9-5 at different frequency the enigine modules still think its a 9-5 in which you want the computer to run it at 9-3 this gives the high throttle reving

you need a laptop and your cars software to set the idle control for vehicle and possibily the proper idle control module for engine

08 Saab 9 7 x how to disable door and seatbelt chime

Disabling the door and seatbelt chime in a 2008 Saab 9-7X typically requires accessing the vehicle's computer system to adjust the settings. However, it's important to note that tampering with safety features like seatbelt reminders may not be legal in some jurisdictions, and it can also pose a safety risk. If you're still determined to disable the chime, here are some general steps you might follow:
  1. Consult the Owner's Manual: The owner's manual may contain information on how to adjust the chime volume or disable it. It's always a good idea to start here to see if there are any manufacturer-approved methods.
  2. Check for Dedicated Fuses or Relays: Some vehicles have dedicated fuses or relays for the chime system. You could potentially remove or disable these components to silence the chime. However, be aware that this may also affect other systems in the vehicle.
  3. Use a Diagnostic Tool: Modern vehicles often have customizable settings accessible through the onboard diagnostic (OBD) port. A diagnostic tool compatible with your vehicle might allow you to access these settings and disable the chime. However, this may require specialized knowledge and equipment.
  4. Visit a Dealership or Automotive Technician: If you cannot disable the chime on your own or are concerned about potentially causing damage to the vehicle, consider visiting a dealership or automotive technician. They may be able to adjust the settings for you or offer alternative solutions.
  5. Consider Aftermarket Solutions: There are aftermarket devices available that claim to disable seatbelts and door chimes. However, their effectiveness and legality may vary, so proceed with caution if you choose this route.
Before proceeding with any method to disable the chime, carefully consider the potential consequences and whether it's worth the risk. It's also important to remember that seatbelt reminders are a safety feature designed to encourage proper seatbelt usage, which can save lives in the event of an accident.
