If all other gears work well, it could be the reverse idler gear or syncho gears are out of whack. In any "case", the problem is in the case of the gearbox.

I've been told that EFI engines do not have a user adjustable mixture setup... except the thing attached to the trottle body... and that needs an expert with proper tools...

Check that battery is above 12V and that alternator is putting out 14V.

Radiator, water pump seal, overflow bottle? How much fluid left in the rad? If it's a rad or water pump, cheaper replacements should be possible. The other thing that will cause it to overheat is the thermostat... if you can get heat inside the car when running, it's probably okay. A bad pump seal will leak pretty quickly, and should be easy to see when the car is running. Get a rebuilt one!

They don't have a reset button.

Yes, that's entirely possible, especially if it has hydraulic lifters. They sometimes get plugged and then don't function properly. And they are right in the top portion of the motor.

Mine did that quite frequently for 6 months until I finally took apart the ignition switch assembly and scraped all the carbon deposits off the electrical contacts. Could also be the fuel pump or ignition cassette. Try the ignition switch first, it's not easy to get to but it's a free fix. It looks a little like the one below.

Ilkely a fault in the non-return valve in the fuel pump assembly in the tank.

Have you checked the crank position sensor. If its weak or failing, it will not activate the fuel pump so will give symptoms of fuel starvation. Another symptom is that the cvar is hard to start when it is hot. These sensors die with age due to heat breakdown of insulation inside them.

I assume you've checked the battery and it's connections. Next I would look for a fuse or fuse link that feeds the ignition switch. If that is okay, it points to the ignition switch and it's wiring. I hope this steers you in the right direction.

replace it. there is a connection or a short in the sensor that's throwing the code. Get your Saab parts at Carquest Auto Parts, They have a WORLDPAC division for all hard to find(and easy) parts. trust me, you will save a fortune on Saab, Mercedes, Volvo and other high end parts.

If you had no previous problems then it is something you have missed in the installation of the radiator. Check for pinched wiring missed earth wires water lever sensor etc

spark plug misfire, check your plugs and wires for burn marks or fowled...

Check out the fuel pump & pressure

Most likely a problem with one of the air bag sensors or an air bag system control computer. Most air bag codes are only able to be read and reset by a dealer service center. I would start there. Good luck!
