1996 land rover not clicking wont trn over

The problem is causes by the heavy copper contacts inside the starter solenoid being burnt from wear and arching. Replace the starter solenoid or if the truck has high mileage replace the whole starter as the starter solenoid is part of the starter. Use a quality rebuilt, avoid using cheaper discount parts store no name rebuilds, yes they are cheaper but the quality is poor. Factory rebuilds are the best as well as brands like BOSCH, AC Delco and A1 Cardone. You can save on the parts for this car at my favorite personnel parts site, it is the best I've found for quality and price. Go to www.rockauto.com

Landrover discovery idles rough when hot but idles good when fuel tank is low

Hi have you made sure the fuel tank is vented? or if the vent is blocked as i know of a couple of these that have done a similar thing, the fuel cap vent got blocked and the tank was under a lot of pressure causing problems in the idle, worth a try anyway

Land Rover Discovery I dashboard replacement.

There is a little more to it than that, but not a tough job if you have patience. You will need to remove both 'doors' on the dash-one glovebox, one fuse access panel. on US models, you will need to remove the pass side airbag as well, then 2 bolts that hold a set of relays under the airbag, then 5 bolts that hold a support bracket (also under the pass side airbag-behind glovebox.

Then under the dash at teh outside near the doors, remove 2 sets of 10mm bolts. after than remove 2 sets of 10mm bolts near where the bottom of the dash touches the tranny tunnel. obviously all the center console needs to be removed, and the center panel of the dash, as there are several sets of screws that hold that to the back of the dash.

be patient, take lots of photos of how it goes together, and where the wiring is(was), and this is pretty easy.

Thanks

Hi my Discovery 1 1996 diesel 300 tdi (148k miles)

its the alarm spyder imoboliser behind the dash its cuts the fuel cut off on the injection pump stopping the engine they fail due to worn solder on the chip board to by pass it take a a piece of wire with a spade conecter to you fuel cut off solenoid on the injection pump take off old wire tape it up slide the new wire on feed the other end into the bulk head inside the car to the front of the fuse box there is a four pin plug from your ignition live snip the yellow wire ad your new wire with a block connecter to the yellow wire presto no more cut outs i would recomend this way as i had the same problem and wanted to make sure it would not cut the engine again it is dangerous if your exiting a junction kind regards chris.
