"Check Trac" lights comes on, temperature gauge shuts off when accelerating or at high speed with load
I have been checking every post about this problem and have replaced many parts and the problem continued but today i backed my 1999 town car up on the ramps and found my gremlin. I had a bundle of 3 wires coming out of my fuel sending unit and taking a rest on the nearby exhaust bend and were melted together and showing bare wire so i pulled them away from the exhaust and separated the 3 wires in question and taped them and made sure they would not be keeping company with the hot pipe any more and then took a long drive and all is well again.
2000 town car. found battery drain on fuse 33, which is radio fuse. whart could cause radio to drain battery?
Seen this "mystery drain" many times. Check spark at the battery to see how big the drain is. For this simple test, blow away any (explosive) battery charging fumes. Leave one terminal on and gently touch the other to its post in fairly dark surroundings. Then try it again with the wires taken off the alternator. Your spark is now probably much less. Usually bad diodes leaking electricity backwards through the alternator cause this drain. Replace the alternator or the diode pack inside it. Some mechanics recommend actually measuring the drain.... hahaha. OK whatever.

AC unit is not blowing cold air
It may not be air con gas but a failed AC compressor. If the AC gas does need to be added this is NOT a DIY job. You will need to take the car to an auto AC specialist to have it carried out.
Can i replace rear air suspension with shocks on 2000 town car
I have learned from experience. I replaced the air bag suspension ($75) on my 2000 Town Car and then learned that I had a problem with the compressor. Then decided to replace system with coil springs. Went on ebay and got a conversion kit (Air Ditcher) that included the shocks ($123) with free shipping. My mechanic replace the bags with the coils for $40. He said that with the shock replacement it would be $120 because the top of the rear shocks were hard to get to. So the whole job should have cost $163. No more worries!
