If there is no power from battery to altenator, than the altenator is bad. Even some new ones can do that. Do check all your battery cable wires including ground wires. Make sure they are all clean. also tight.

Vaccum hoses need to be replaced. How much do

Very inexpensive repair. Try to measure the length of what is under your hood of each size. Then just buy that many feet of each size needed. Replace them one at a time as to not get confused.

My 95 Mark 8 will not start sometimes

I had the same kind of problem with my Lincoln Town Car with after market alarm. Finally we took out the kill switch that was still on the car(after we disconnected the alarm) That was the culprit. I changed batteries, starters, alternators et of a two year period. Never again after market alarms for me. Good Luck Darrell S

Is the theft light flashing while your trying to start it? Try a different key, maybe the theft unit in the key got damaged. Has to be one that came with the car. Also if someone has a code scanner, you will see a code like p1260 theft detected if it can read your key.

Every time I shift to reverse my fuse burns out.

This is a tough one... Which fuse blows in reverse? I would have to start with your rear lights as they're the only thing electrical that is associated with your gear seleting. You could also have a wire rubbing the gear shifter under the car (follow the selector and have some shift to see if it is rubbing)... The alternators could be blowing because of the short or you could be overloading them (if you have a large stereo system or other items pulling too much load on the sytem). As far as the ABS light could be a sensor on any of the wheels, faulty light or bad speed sensor (cant really diagnose over the net)

WHINE APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK

Since the fuel pump is in the tank, and should be fairly noisey, I doubt there is a problem. If you are not sure, compare it with the sounds a newer one makes, at a dealer. But a fuel pump could make more noise than usual, just before going out.
