2004 Kia Rio Won't Start Clicking Noise Battery is GOOD
My 2004 Kia Rio just started losing compression and died on me. I tried starting it and it only clicks. I checked the battery cables and they are not corroded and very tight. Could it be the battery or the alternator not charging the battery? there is no water in the oil and it's not the water pump.

Why does my kiosquealwhen starting?
Hello. Squealing sounds are anoying. It sounds like the belt for the motor is getting to be bad. Check it out for cracks or drynesss of the belt it self. If it has small or tiny cracks or it looks very dry and brittle, then you need to change the belt as soon as posible. Better be safe then sorry. Good Luck.

What would cause my car to make a noise when starting?
you said in your next question that there is a squeal on starting. IF this noise is during the starting and stops when the engine is running I would have the over run clutch in the starter pinion checked as it may be slipping. IT is in effect a series of oblong balls that when starting jam between the shaft and the pinion case causing the motor to spin and when the engine starts and over runs the starter these ball fall out of the way and so the pinion gear free wheels and doesn't spin the starter armature. IF This is what is happening then the starter will have to come out for a bench test and pinion replacement.
