Noise when braking
Check your front brake pads, they may have a piece attached to the pads that will make a noise when pads need changing,if you wait too long, you will mess up the disc, metal on metal.

I can't remove the valve cover on my 99 kia sportage.
Remove Mass Air Flow pipe from Valve cover, then detach hose at rear of valve cover, and hose on left hand side.Remove Plastic Spark Plug cover, and remove coils (leave plugs). Remove all Bolts from inside plug cover (x8) and 9 from the outside (the last one is from behind the timing belt cover. The rear ones are tough, as there is little space to work. Then gently remove the valve cover, you may have to divert the spark cables and small hoses behind the Transmission fluid dip stick.Remove and refit the seal / gasket, and ensure there is a little oil on the top of the block when you replace the valve cover, just tighten bolts to hand tight fit, (you may need to put a piece of newspaper between the screwdriver/wrench handle and your hand to gain sufficient grip.Reverse the process and you should be good to go.

Feel's like the car is smothering out when your driving
Is this diesel or petrol? Cars nowadays are getting complicated and harder to fix. Check with your fuel system first and if you haven't change your fuel filter for a long time replace it. It might be your car is starving on fuel due to dirty fuel and blocked fuel filter. Check your air filter as well it might be clogged with dirt and dust restricting air going to the intake manifold. Do that first and if still the same problem after that get back to me.

My 1999 Kia Sportage won't start. I put a new fuel pump in replaced the car battery . Need help please...
Im dealing with a similar situation. But have found that I have no spark. By opening the end of the air intake and giving a little squirt of starter fluid and no start. Opened access to FP and pulled a hose. No fuel. So no fuel no spark. reading lots and lots of forums I have come to the conclusion it is either the Cam or the Crank sensor. The crank sensor is easier to get to and cheaper. I am going to check that first.

You have an Electrical Issue that is probably best served to bring to a Mechanic so he can follow the Troubleshooting Matrix to get to the Bottom of the Problem

Kia sorento sitting on lift engine not assembled ..... windows are down need to get windows up without interferring with having to take to dealership to reprogram..
I don't know how sensitive it is, but all you have to do is hook up the battery and turn the key to on, to get the windows to roll up. If any unhooked engine sensors caused a code to be set, wouldn't a simple engine code scanner be able to erase the codes? That should not require a dealer's interventionOn a lot of American cars the power windows are ran through a circuit breaker at the fuse panel under or near the driver's side. If you had the wiring diagram and could find the fuse or circuit breaker for the windows, I suppose you could try putting battery voltage there with jumper wires, putting direct battery power straight to the master switch on the driver's door, you know, bypassing turning the key on at all. Whatever battery you use, it has to be grounded to the frame. I shouldn't have to tell you, you really need to know what you are doing, when you start messing with electrical stuff on cars. Good luck.
