If there is not an automatic tensioner look for two bolts one will be the fulcrum and one will be the tension set bolt. loosen both of these and it will move freely or sometimes there is another bolt perpendicular to the set bolt that will adjust the tension applied to the belt.

This sounds like an ignition switch issue. It is located on the opposite side of the ignition lock cylinder (the part you put the key into) and can be purchased for about $20-30. If you are handy with a volt/ohm meter, I can give you directions on how to test the 'start' wire to see if it is getting power before you buy a replacement switch.

Sounds like you have an electrical short under or inside the dashboard somewhere. PLEASE do not turn the radio on again until that is fixed. As a retired firefighter, I can honestly tell you, you might start a fire and burn up your car if you do not fix this. Be blessed.

The water pump is driven by the timing belt BUT you don't have to worry about it getting knocked out of time because the serpentine belt will keep it in line for you as it goes around the same pulley.

I was facing a similar problem when I bought my car, I think the "check engine" lit due to a problem with shifting control system which obviously made the "O/D-off" flashes.The best solution in this case is to replace the malfunctioning shifting control system (a closed steel box that works like a computer).This is what I did and since then it's running perfectly.

You can use the 8th digit of the VIN number, a 3 or 4 is a 1.6 and a 5 is a 1.8Or there should be a sticker on the hood or radiator support listing the engine size.

if the overdrive light is blinking then there is a problem with the TCM transmission control module. if you have access to a scanner, pull the codes, that will lead you on the path to what is wrong. if you dont you will have to take it for service.

you need new wiring for your radio, a new radio, new speakers, new wires going to your light and a new light. hooking up a battery wrong can destroy a car. your lucky it didn't catch fire.

you need to take it to the dealer to unlock if it is locked. once unlocked you can set your radio up to your own code.

NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!! NEVER PUT WATER IN YOUR BATTERY. batteries contain acid you shouldnt mix acid with water thats how you corode the battery and mess it up. i had the same issue with my sephia its bad motor mounts most likely the passenger side i would replace both of the ones in the fron one located front driver side near the side of the engine and the one on the passenger side is connected alond your pulleys. even though if your car is parked and you shake your car you won't hear anything loose until u put the gear in drive trust me i had the same problem its motor mounts. not the battery and not the alternator the alternator deals with the electricity to the car and contacts itself with the battery not your gears or mechanicals.its the notor mounts for this car they were like $60 each i believe at autozone dont get junk ones u might be getting bad ones get new ones
