Where is the thermostat located

Follow the large rad hose (either upper or lower) from the rad back to the engine. Whichever one stops at an "igloo shaped" metal casting, that is the thermostat housing, remove the coolant and then the housing to reveal the Thermostat. See picture . 26222777-meudwxvkybgjwtwafa3fykuk-5-0.jpg

Relay is bad. The contacts probably are welded replace it. It could be the switch but it is cheaper to try the relay first.

How do I remove the steering wheel on my 04 Jaguar Xtype awd? It's loose and I want to tighten it but can't get the airbag removed to get to the center but.

the airbag is held on by 2 plastic clips, they are shaped like a claw to release them you need a flat blade screwdriver to gently seperate the 2 parts of the claw. (there is a jaguar special tool for the job} insert the driver through the holes in the back of the steering wheel and twist 90 degrees. turn the wheel quarter turn to gain access.pull gently on the airbag at the same time, you need the driver to be the correct size its a bit of a pig to do, make sure you disconnect the battery first. the airbag electrical connectors are delicate so be careful, good luck

Process of buying a 2004 jaguar X type. Engine light came on - following codes P0420 + P1111. Do I still buy?

I'd tell them to fix the problems unless you want to invest additional money to sort out an unknown problem. Google year make model and codes you should be able to find what the codes mean and some idea of what needs attention. Wild guess, it's emission problems. It may include a bad Catalytic converter. That will cost dearly.

We had some subzero weather while I was on vacation. My 2004 Jaguar was parked outside for several weeks. We had another very cold, icy day, and heater did not work. Fan works, rear window defroste

What is happening here is that the faster the heater blows air through the fan, the more it cools the liquid in the heater core, and so heat output is reduced. The root of the problem is either the engine is not warming up enough, or the heater core, and/or heater core lines, are plugged up, not allowing the water to circulate properly in the heater core. Here is what I would try. 1. Top off the radiator and overflow. 2. Is the engine warming up properly? Is your temperature gauge showing normal temperatures? If it is not, then replace the thermostat. 3. If steps 1 and 2 do not solve the problem, get the vehicle in a shop, locate the heater core lines, take them apart and flush out the heater core. Look for blockages in the fittings. Do a flow test on the core. It may be clogged and need to be replaced.
