Changed battery now radio doesn't work

By disconnecting the battery the radio thinks that it was being stolen so it went into security mode. You will need to re-enter the security code for the radio and it will turn back on. The code may be in the hand book or you can get it from the car dealer as it is on record from the factory unless it is not original

Failure of instrument cluster & console lighting

My 2003 Elantra had a problem when I would use the turn signals. The dash lights would flicker on and off and if you jiggled the arm of the dimmer switch it would turn the dash lights back on. Over time it got worse. AND little did I know it also made the tail lights and front parking lights flicker on and off!!! So it was not good to say the least.
I took the switch out and opened it up. And inside where the turn signal components moved to make their contact connections, there was a build up of electrical contact grease at the bottom making intermittent contact between two points (I'm assuming gravity and vibration over the years moved the grease down there and built up). I cleaned the excess contact grease from the area. Reassembled the switch. Put back in steering column. No longer having issues.

When is the best time

It depends on what you are looking for or your needs. If the cost of maintaining your current car is increasing then it may need replacing. Other than that another car may provide you with better use such as space or safety concerns.

How to replace thermostat

Hi,
The thermostat is located behind the thermostat housing on which the ECT is installed. It is attached to the lower radiator hose. Remove the lower radiator hose and the housing attached to it you would get the thermostat. To replace the thermostat, you must remove the air cleaner box, remove the thermostat housing cover, replace the thermostat with a new gasket, clean off any old gasket material, reinstall the housing cover and air box, and then fill and bleed the cooling system.
Thank you !!
