I have referred your problem to Graeme Cooper automotive and should get advice within a day or so. However, I had exactly the same problem on another vehicle, also changed the filter and oil. It worked for a while then failed completely. First, check under the vehicle for any leaking hose that could be causing a pressure drop. Failing that, the bad new is that you probably have a dud torque converter and/or bad clutch packs and it will be an expensive job

This is not a difficult job for a specialist shop used to doing the conversion but doing it yourself is NOT recommended unless you have a hoist, special tools (like spring compressors) and experience of what to remove. Do NOT go to a dealer to be ripped off. A specialist Land Rover shop will do this job for around $1000 and save you a lot of angst

Check out the ignition coil for weak or no spark.

Have your mechanic check the drive shaft. You might have a worn U-joint or yolk.

I would check the wiring to the gauge, all the way back to the sender. If the wiring is ok, then you probably need a new sending unit. The dealer or any auto repair shop should be able to do this for you. To do it yourself, you will need to get a new fuel quantity sending unit for your vehicle, then empty & drop the gas tank, remove the old unit (small (~2-3") circle on top of gas tank,) and bolt the new unit in. I would shine a light down into the tank (NOT A LIGHTER!) to see if there is much sediment or rust down in it.

It is normal, but if it remains on for more than one minute, verify your brake fluid level in the reservoir.

Run basic troubleshooting flow chart for spark. Juice to the coil? Test ignition module. Insure all grounds are reinstalled properly.

brake must be applied before you can move gear shift. if the brake light switch is ajar then the signal is missing to the shift lock solenoid. check for these things. ignition should be on apply the brake a listen for the shift lock solenoid to unlock the shifter

Sounds like the locking pin is broken.

check fuel filter and fuel pump. a service manual such as chilton's or haynes' should be of help.

Please ensure that all your fuses are replaced. you already know the reason why the cut in fuses occurred.

have you checked the fuse? make sure you have power to the switch.

When operating properly the HSE temp guage should be straight up on your guage or halfway between cold and red. If your fluid level is correct and its not getting near the red zone you may have some radiator blockage or trapped air (especially if your system fluid has been recently serviced or drained and replaced). In any event, the red zone on your dash guage should be avoided at all costs. Overheating of this engine can and most likely will be disasterous. Best advice, don't take chances here, pay for a couple hours shop time at your best Rover shop and have it diagnosed correctly the first time. Do not take it to any shop or mechanic that does not work on Rovers regularly. There are many aspects both operational and mechanical that are unique to the Range Rover cooling system. Reach down under the center of the steering column assembly, centered on the column just below knee height is a lever that pulls down and away. Pull the lever, move the steering column back to where you want it then re-engage the lever until flush with the surrounding fascia panel.
