Landrover cassette display appear

If you have the correct radio code for the unit, just wait about an hour with the power on in the radio. The screen will eventually display (code) or (enter code) follow the directions in your radio manual to enter the code and the radio will be operational again. The safe mode is on because either the radio fuse blew, the battery was too low on charge or the radio was momentarilly disconnected from it's power source. Most common is low battery voltage. Charge your vehicle battery, locate the radio code, wait till radio displays CODE and enter the code an have happy tunes again.

Excessive play in taking up gear changing

Your question is pretty hard to understand. I recommend being more specific about what you are talking about. For anyone to provide the information for you, they will first need to know the YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, and ENGINE SIZE of the vehicle that you want the information for. Then the actual problem should be described in detail.

My land rover defender steering

This is really annoying, happens with most Defenders, but is easily fixed. It is the steering damper. They are never strong enough. Best solution is to fit an additional damper onto the track rod. Remove the track rod protection bracket from under the rear of the front diff, fit a heavier track rod and mount an additional damper on the track rod. The other end of the damper is mounted on the rear of the diff (where the protection bracket was removed). Land Rover specialists such as MR Automotive in Brisbane will send you the required parts. You won't regret doing it!

How many miles before i

There is no set mileage to change a head gasket. You only replace the gasket if you have a problem with it. Change the timing belt as outlined in your owners manual. If you do not have an owner's manual, then call your local Land Rover dealer for the correct mileage to change the belt.
