Is the car running good? If the motor isnt running right and is missing with no power it will cause the transmission to shift hard due to taking to long to shift, so it could just need a tune up

You will probably end up with one like you have now. Usually if it is in the junk yard, it has been wrecked. Once they have been wrecked, the tensioners require replacement anyway. You may get lucky and find one with very low mileage that blew up the motor and didnt' get fixed though.

Have you checked the engine computer for trouble codes ?

you might have to have your transmission downloaded.you have to go to a kia dealer\'put it on a machine.if the code is out it will make your trans mission jerk.cost me $400 dollars.in my 2006 kia spectra ex

Check the condition and tension of the drive belt on the alternator as what you have described means that the extra load on the alternator is making the belt slip (squeal)

A new clutch kit or clutch package has 3 major parts: a new clutch disc (the thin plate with the abrasive surface), a new or reconditioned clutch pressure plate, and a new clutch release bearing (aka, throw-out bearing). Approximately $200 for the package.Some people have been known to change only the clutch disc (for about $30), and use their old pressure plate and throw-out bearing. Not recommended-same people have been known to have to go back sooner than later to then replace the pressure plate and release bearing. Do it all once, then you won't have to go back and re-do it.Have you checked the hydraulic clutch operation? Before condemning the clutch disc for failure, make sure the hydraulic clutch cylinder causes the clutch fork or lever to have sufficient travel to engage the clutch when the pedal is depressed. Also check the clutch fluid reservoir for being full.

Could be the switch or the motor. Do you hear any sound?

Check your water / coolant level for your motor. sometimes if it is low the wate pump will push air into your heater coil macking it sould like water running. So check the level and bleed the collant system to help get the air out.

I work for kia. what you have to do is jack the front end of the vehicle 2-3 feet off of the ground. then take radiator cap off and fill radiator. let the vehicle get to opperating temp. then add coolant again as neccessary. ohh yea make sure heater is on full blast. that should fix concern
