How do You remove the plastic clips to pull the air intake tube
thats the part load breather pipe. you should be able to remove it by squeezing the plastic clip together by hand but it may have hardened by age making it difficult and can break be carefull not to break the stub on the cam /valve cover if in doubt cut the pipe off carefully and fit a new one. by gentle twisting/squeezing they nomally come off
2000,Jag xj8, throwing codes P0172,
Hi
It is a rich condition for both a and b banks, you need to look at things that feed both. That code is most often MAFS, but you need monitor fuel pressure. Even more important is your long term fuel trim may be still under old operating conditions. Disconnect the negative battery cable and momentarily touch it to the positive cable to provide a path to ground for the capacitors and erases volatile memory in the ecu's. Then you won't be dealing with past parameters the ecu.s use for performance changes...A fuel pressure reg. is a likely culprit too
Undo your negative battery terminal for 30 minutes then re connect it. This should clear any fault codes. the exception is if there is still a problem then it won't work.

WE have the low level coolant indicator light on
You don't really need to flush it out. Most of the time it's a 50/50 coolant/water ratio. Check the bottles - often coolant is sold pre-diluted so you can just dump it in. If not, mix it equally with water and add it until it reaches the full mark (or the top of the radiator) and you're good.
Over filling
She didnt put washer fluid in did she? What will happen when car warms up and coolant expands in tank it will push some out will not hurt anything though if put washer fluid in will need to flush coolant system. if you havent run yet just drain coolant resevoir and refill
Engine coolant low
Hi Gavin,
I'm no expert on Jaguars, but if there is a "low coolant" warning light when there isn't "low coolant" it may be that the level sensor has got poor electrical connections, possibly due to corroded or dirty terminals, or the sensor may be faulty. If there is a removable electrical connector on the container where you add coolant, that might need checking.
The cooling system should be a mixture of water and "antifreeze / summer coolant". I don't know where you live but the car manual will tell you the correct mixture to use. The stuff you add to the water contains corrosion inhibitors and other chemicals to make the engine last longer.
But there will be several different liquid containers and filling points under the hood and you mustn't get them mixed up!
Coolant expansion tank - where you top up coolant
Windscreen washer liquid tank
Engine oil filler
Brake fluid / hydraulic systems reservoir
and maybe others too.
These should all be clearly identified in the users manual - well worth a read.
If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills.
If they do not, please add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further.

Hello
I do not think that there is any thing to worry about as long as you have no leak.
But if it happens again , you might want to check the steering pump , as it could be going bad and starting to get stuck
