Car was starting perfect until wife tried to start

sounds like fuel pump is running but can not produce enough pressure. try pressurizing the tank with compressed air(may have an air lock) and if that doesnt work consult your local jag dealer for tips before you replace the fuel pump....

How do i remove the tank?

That requires special tools to remove. There are fuel lines that can be damaged if you are not very careful. If you are not a technician I recommend you leave this repair to a dealer or reputable shop.

Jaguar xj8 1998 starting problems

sounds like you may have a clog in the fuel delivery system...Have you changed your fuel filter? If so,check the fuel pump pressure by getting a tester from Harbor Freight...connect to the chafer valve on the fuel rail...If the fuel pressuee is correct, and the filter has been changed please have the dealership do a pressurized intake cleaning.(3m product). It isnt that much to do but will make a great difference in the cars ability to start and the response will be much greater.
