sorry for late post that was dead wrong to do. 1.6L ( 8v or 16v?) the PCM sets idle only (ISC valve) and when cold only thermal IAC valve, so if then wrecked the TB throttle stop screw setting a factory settings. (no never touch) it did this like a CARB and is not one. so is this a hot engine stall or cold, hot means normal temps. stall on this car means the PCM lost control of idle. (its job is that) top cause are. 1: EGR struck open they love to just as you stop the car. and stalls at 400 rpm and is never allowed to be active at idle (PCM logic0 so is bad valve stuck. now back to high RPM the answer is not same for 8v and 15valve engine 8v any vacuum leak causes super high idle. 16v engine leaks cause low idle, goes lean. stalling has many causes , and are not the same hot and cold engine on cold engine the IAC open and idle is about 1500 RPM if not the IAC is dead or EGR stuck open. on the hot engine the ISC holds RPM at 800 rpm, (AC off) if not ISC stuck EGR open or ISC is jammed up, EGR and ISC just love to stick on this car and can be cleaned the IAC is therrmal device and can not be cleaned,only replaces and are rare now. I have simple test to prove what it is , ask/

That will be very difficult to find. Your best bet would be take it to an auto body shop. and have them treat the rust and weld a panel over the old one and treat it with rust proofing. if you plan on keeping it for a long while.

Radiator hose blocked?

remove and have the injectors cleaned and set leaking injectors will allow fuel in when not required causing the detonation

Due to the amount of miles on it I would check the cat and the muffler to see if the exhaust is plugging up. It sounds like the engine is flooding and that is why you are seeing the black smoke when you rev it up. I would also check the ETC switch (it looks like a temp. sw) it sends a signal to the computer as to the outside temp and the amount of fuel need to fire the engine on start up until the idle air control kicks out.

there is no CARB on this car. that must be the throttle body engine, TBI EFI. 1 injector engine not the 4 MPI engine. G16a is TBI G1b is TBI and both sold day 1 , new. its is supposed to spray, but you forgot to say when. just key on over and over not running, (not spray is correct) it sprays cranking and running,, that be its job1. lets say it sprays key one. That means: 1: injector leaks. 2: injector - o-rings are bad. (cracked) 3: ECU injector drivers shorted (bad ECU) you can look at the inject on this car, air pipe off TBI horn. see if the seals leak or injector tip leaks ? if the injector actually leaks. unplug the injector connector (4pin plug) leak now. yes, injector is bad or just o-rings no, the ECU is bad. you blew the fuse, in the fuse box. or it blew again, do to shorts you introduced or IT, manifested.

what does pulling mean? in 2wd and 4wd the rear axle pulls (that i moves the car) or do you mean the rear brakes drag? (lift car and feel them?) or while braking the rear brakes, pull. we cant guess the word pull and its implications, unless you say. tell what your are doing, when it's pulling? and what you felt or saw or?

sure, steering, gear, but which end,? the top at steeriing wheel, shaft or bottom end. the bottom, at box? or the box. itself main shaft, 1 o 2? 4 total shafts driver to pittman arm. why not post the job, what's wrong, what are you doing. no air bags so you are safe. ill guess at , steering box, parts because you said GEAR. manual box or power steering box. (2 options day 1) i have the parts cat,blow up of the box and all photos of box setup, in the FSM. lots and lots of photos. and drawings, ill wait until you tell me what your doing first, then give you them. what is the JOB ?

According to the web sites,if you remove the panel below or next to the steering column,there is a switch you move opposite to where it now is & that will clear any mil lamp or maintenance lamp I would google the question to see if I understood that

how to change,? how to remove it and then? what? its not like a light bulb.... the cars whole body, needs replacement. the whole thing. this car has real frame, so you must detach all harness ends from all drivline parts. including in the engine bay. then all shift linkage.(on a 5speed it be the shifter too) after console removal (center) then all those body to frame, bolts. take sharp left turn and body and you falls of car. (jokinig) now lifting it, you will need, like 8 people to do that by hand or a gantry crane or a huge tree and chain hoist. lifting the body, invites damage to the body, or to the newone going back on. It can be done with many jacks and huge boards to protect t the body, and jack up the body in stages, and then slide the rolling chassis from under the body. my guess? is you have a car with good body bad driveline then one more bad body with good driveline, right, is that the store?

HOT ENGINE? (ill guess hot) idle surges.(hunts) (very simple reasons or very hard to find. the car has 2 engines. G16A and G16B they work totally opposite, (8valve and 16v) the vin number tells you the engine type ,digit 8 is engine code 6= G16B 16v U= G16A 8v i have factory book. its in chapter 0 these facts. the cause of idle surge and hunt are: 1: ISC failures. the ISC can stick partially open and then hunts. clean it and test it . see videos of how. 2: engine running so bad the ISC can nOT regulate idle speeds. #2 is caused by up to 50 reasons. 8v , air leaks, cause racing idle and iSC goes nuts. 16v , all air leaks cause lean and if too lean the ISC goes nuts. by nuts , i mean it hunts or gives up. the list is endless, but the tests are basic, i cant help you because no engine stated. http://www.fixkick.com/IDLE-AIR/idle-index-home.html ISC = IDLES SPEED CONTROLER (a system not just a PART)

there is no cam, its a STAR adjuster, (threaded, not a cam at all) its covered in the FSM or alldata.com 1993 what , 2door or 4 door. parts are differennt. try to find part here and use ID number http://www.fixkick.com/brakes/brakes.html
