Helle there are 8 coils i have a problem iam
Standing in front of the car, cylinder 1 is the first one on your left. Ignition coil E is the first one on your right. FYI, the left runs front to fire wall 1,2,3,4 or A, B, C, D. The right runs front to fire wall 5,6,7,8 or E,F,G.H. Hope this helps.

I repalced the headlight switch
Try checking the fuses, the seperates fuses and the maxi fuses which are the big master fuses located in the engine compartment.
I have a 2005 lincoln
Check the switch that makes the Dash Lights brighter and darker. When it is turned to maximum Bright it may have moved to the interior light on position. if your interior lights has multi position switches on them, specifically the Dome Light, check that that is in the proper position because there is an always on position there as well.
After engine is warm (
The spark plugs get replaced around 60,000 miles
& the L/S requires a special spark plug,also
premium fuel or it will knock
If you change plugs every 3 years, then that isn't the issue
Did they remove the upper intake manifold to do the right side
spark plugs?
You never have more then 1 bad coil a year, or sometimes
2 ,but never at one time
A dealer can not work on an L/S for some reason
I own a 2004 V8 & have no issues diagnosing these problems
The front 2 O2 Sensors ,the ones in the front of exhaust converter,
get slow & get replaced at 100,000 miles
You clean the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner
A back fire could be a lean condition from a vacuum leak
That could be around the engine or in the EVAP System
Hopefully they checked the TPS Sensor
When I refer to check, I don't mean replace,I mean test &
use an oscilloscope to back probe the sensors,not continually
make love to their scan tools,actually get involved & see what
does work & how well,then you will eventually find something
that doesn't.
The EGR Valves fail on ford products quite offten
Need to check/test fuel pressure at rail on engine,even
road test with gauge taped to the windshield & take scan
tool along to collect data.
You got sometimes & when warm,that is what they should
be working off of
You don't go after a problem ,you find out how things are
doing that do work & the drivability issue will surface.
Dealers sometimes never even road test a car or long enough
So there you go,they won't find anything

symptoms

You never needed the replace all the coils
I suspect that was at a dealer,waste of time
& your money
The coils fail at a rate of 1 a year,sometimes 2
They cost $59.00 plus tax & take no more than
30 min to install if you have no experience
They have been doing that since 1998 on ALL
fords products with COP ignition coils & now
they are on most all makes today & fail but not like
a ford
Very few people like or work on fords & never solve

Replace the front 2 O2 Sensors at 100,000 miles
before you get a Wrench MIL Lamp
They have to be ordered from NAPA &
the wires are 5" longer than OEM but still
OEM NGK/NGT
Spray the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner
Only use NGK Spark plugs
They were the OEM Mfg & your V8 takes a special
center electrode 6mm I believe

Have to use premium gas or you
get a knock even with the dealer PCM

05 lincoln ls was in accident, hit on drivers
I have a 2004 LS V8 & do all my own work
I can understand the battery failed as it was
more than 4 or 5 years old
The converters would have had to be damaged
in the accident if something got under the car
& damaged the exhaust pipes,no other reason
The Gas Pedal is called a Electronic Throttle
Control Module,I'm looking at my wiring diagrams
for a V6 &v8. I don't see that as an issue
The Throttle Body is almost always replaced at a dealer
& seldom an issue either. Reason --When you have a really
bad COP Ignition Coil it spikes your PCM & the signal
comes back on the TPS Sensor on the throttle body &
the pcm looses throttle plate % & starts to cut out
fuel injectors
Bottom line ,not many people like working on Ford Products
& the dealer will really cost you dearly & with negative results.
I have seen many codes related to coils & never more than
one bad one,while it could happen
It sounds as though 80% of your issues have nothing to do
with the accident.
We own one of the most complicated vehicles out there
It has Jaguar Technolgy as well
I don't know if any testing or diagnosing was done on your car
or if what was done invloved a body shop,then off the a dealer
or local repair shop,but I don't get a warm fuzzy fealing on anything
but the battery
As long as your wrench is light you have codes to at least look at
The ETC Failsafe on the right bottom side if dash is a BAD COIL
as I explained above. You will drive up to 22 miles in hot weather
The PCM you can see & feel under & behind the glove box
To remove it you have to remove the box on pass side of engine
compartment that covers the Cabin Filter as the 2 harness connectors

I doubt the PCM Failed
Go to a local shop that likes lincolns & just have them find
the one bad ignition coil.
them it will only go 6 mph in failsafe. Unusable for now

Throttle actuator control position sensor....it's a small piece that
goes in front of the engine.....cost about $110......must have Allen
star key to take out if you're going to do it yourself.

I would change the fuel filter first then check the fuel pressure and if its not within the specs replace pump.
Where to put transmission fluid
you need a long skinny funnel ,find the transmission dip stick most likely to be on the driver side under hood place funnel in dip stick hole and pour

There actually is not a transmission dipstick for the Lincoln LS. The only way to access the transmission is via the fill/drain port that is on the underside of the transmission. It is essentially a small bolt within a bigger bolt. It also takes a pressurized machine to fill the transmission. Ford kinda gets you with this design, you have to take it to a dealer to get it serviced.

It sounds like that the security system has encountered a problem...Did you notice a light coming on the dash saying security?
Your ignition ,all though no chip in key,references to a security module...what this does is tell the computer that the same key is being used to start vehicle...The condition that would come from this problem would be a crank with a know start condition....the security system actually shuts down the injectors if reference signal isnt recognized.POST IF THIS IS THE CONDITION YOU ARE EXPERIENCING>>>
