Check Engine light on 2005 Kia Sedona

The check engine light has gone on (again) on our 2005 Kia Sedona. The first time it had to do with the gas cap. The second time it ''fixed'' itself after a few days. Anything I can do to troubleshoot this myself without taking it to the dealer?

I believe there is actually an access panel in front of the second row seat behind the drivers seat that you can access the top of the tank, fuel pump and possibly the fuel filter. Lift up the carpeting and check.
1. Remove the fuel tank cap to lower the fuel tank's internal pressure. 2. Locate access cover. 3. Remove the fuel pump & fuel filter assembly installation screws, then remove the fuel pump & fuel filter assembly from the fuel tank.

There is a tensioner pulley that has a nut in the middle of it, loosen that nut and there is a tensioner bolt that when you loosen it, it slides the pulley away from the belt to replace it.

2005 Kia Sedona, Trouble Code P0320. Everything I read online tells me its a Crankshaft Sensor. I called Kia and then sent me to www.kiatechinfo.com were it says that the code is an Ignition System Failure Sensor. I searched every were and there is no **** thing. Can anyone here help me please.

This is a common problem usually related to the crankshaft position sensor. Before you replace it, disconnect the electrical connector to the CPS sensor and clean it with electrical contact spray and add a dab of dielectrical grease. If the problem continues, replace the CPS sensor. It is easy to replace and is not very expensive. It just bolts to the engine block with one or two bolts. I believe the CPS sensor on the Sedona is behind the timing cover on the front of the engine.

your transmission overdrive gear is turned off. There should be a button on the shifter or console to turn it on. Overdrive provides better gas mileage on the highway. If you have more questions, please let me know.

How do you change a starter on a 2005 Kia Sedona?

How do you change a starter on a 2005 Kia Sedona?

On the 2.9litre diesel I found that 2 of the bolts holding the starter could be reached from underneath( after jacking up and putting on ramps or axle stands both sides) the third was only accessed from the top and i had to loosen the bracket for the gear linkage cables as it prevented getting a socket on the head of the bolt. once the 4 bolts(12mm) were removed it was easy. I found on ebay a repair kit which replaces the piston and contacts which on mine were badly eroded(just as site said) and replacing those cost under £15 (about $25?) A reconditioned starter would have cost at least £175. The instructions for replacing the plunger and contacts were excellent and changing them took under 20 minutes.

lol The previous answers are a joke. Engine runs, maybe slightly rough, tach not working, and engine light on. Typical ailment for a Kia. Most common issue is the 'Ignition Fail Sensor', located on the engine near the water outlet.
