Had the same problem with my Explorer. Yes - the part is expensive, and if you do not replace it you will spend lots of time filling your tank trying to get it full.

This is likely the speed sensor on the transmission which tells the ECU how fast you are going. Should be an easy fix.

Under the dash, push down the brake pedal and see if there is a switch that is being turned on, usually by a flat piece of steel on the shaft. If you slammed it, you might have broken the switch.

Passenger side low beam doesn't work. Notice bulb is out. Replaced bulb but still doesn't work. High beam works fine. No problem with driver side. Is there a fuse for the left side?

No you must have a wiring problem if the bulb is good. You can test the bulb out of the car. Do not touch any halogen type bulb with your bare skin.

P0172 fault code

It could be an emmissions problem. Sometimes even the gas cap being loose can cause a code. Make sure to tighten the cap when done refuelling...you should hear repetitive clicks when its tight. Other components related to code p0172 are o2 sensor(bank 1) and catalytic converters. Hope this helps!

Changing gears and the temp gauge have nothing in common. First, check the coolant level. If gets low an air pocket in the engine will cause the gauge to go high, then back to normal. Next would be to check the wiring. could be the gauge/sensor wire is shorting to ground.

I noticed on my 2005 Hyundai Elantra that the alternator pulley is not spinning at all times. The belt is spinning and the outside metal part of the pulley, but the part on the inside of the pulley it s

The pulley may have failed or not They have several or at least 3 different names & type of pulleys on some newer vehicles Some fancy technology to save energy- I assume AOD is only type Decoupler Pulley-- is what they are I would have to look back a couple months ago, at my trade magazines, to get into the various pulleys out there & have no way to get back to you Without reading the piece on the pulleys again, I believe they are just variations of a mechanical device,no wires or sensors,They are speed & torque sensitive Wouldn't hurt to have it checked out-- if any shop has even worked on those yet & if that is what you have on your alternator,I have no idea what is on there

How do I fix po172 on 05 elantra?

That code is for too rich of a fuel mixture. Replacing the MAF was a shot in the dark. You first need to check for vacuum leaks on all the hoses and intake. If you don't find any, then you need to check the injectors.

Car wont start but lights work

Please provide with more detail. Does it make a click sound when turning the ignition? Does it crank? Have you tried to jump the battery with jumping cable or tried it on a know good batteries? - If the car does make a cranking noised then the starter is good but weak battery. - If there is no noise or clicking, then dead battery. - If you can hear the clicking when turning the key to start, then check for battery GROUND. - If battery were tested and it read 12.5 - 14.0 DCV. Then your starter are bad. There also other thing to check like security alarm system with ignition switch kill... But most common problems with fail to start are mention above.
