2002 SAAB is releasing white smoke out of tail pipe and stalling

White smoke out the exhaust is a sign of either water in the fuel or coolant being burned with the fuel. Observe if you have any coolant consumption and if not, wait until your tank to empt and filled up with new fresh good quality gasoline and you will be allright. If you have a coolant consumption you will need a tool to pressure test the coolant system and find where is leaking. You can purchase it at Harborfreight tools. Could be head gasket, Throtllebody gasket, intake gasket and others... Good luck.

My 2002 SAAB 9-5 Aero

First try with starting fluid spray.
If it fires at all, then you know it is not ignition.
With fuel, put on pressure gauge.
if nothing, then find fuel pump relay, and by looking at diagram on side, place jumper across main pump power terminals.
Pump should run.
If not, then pump.
If it does, then could be safety cut out switch, fuse, or nothing from the ignition switch to cut off switch. Cut off may be inertial, oil pressure operated, from the alternator, or from ignition control module.

Car died while driving could it be the camshaft sensor or engine speed sensor?

The best way to find out why the car died is to read the computer code. A code reader will be required for this. You can buy one at your local auto parts store, or you can get a cheap one on ebay. I like the ELM327 scan tools. They don't just give you the error code, but they will search an internet database to tell you exactly what the code means. There is just not enough information in your question to give you a more definitive answer. There are so many things which would give you similar symptoms.
