A/c works for awhile then stops working
This sounds very much like your magnetic clutch dropping in and out possibly due to and electrical cut off ether in the wiring or a faulty switch on the dash board that you operate to bring in the A/C. This magnetic clutch is actually attached to the drive pulley of the a/c unit get some body to switch the a/c on and off whilst you look to see if it engages before you decide what to do about it, also check that engine oil drips have not got between the plates, if this is the case or you think it's slipping for some other reason. spay between the plates with a can of Carburettor cleaner.
Best of luck

My kia sportage 2006 diesel have code p 1187 don't have power
One of the first things I do when I get a new-to-me vehicle is to get a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual for that make/model/year. These repair manuals have the codes, troubleshooting guides, and even tell you when you may well be in over your head. And yes, I keep the manual when I get rid of the car. You never know if you may well buy another. I have Kia repair manuals, but they are for Sephia/Spectra. And to my knowledge these sedans did not come with a diesel engine. I didn't even know the Sportage could be ordered with this powerplant. Just checked my books. Neither address diesel powered Kias. You will have to find a repair manual the specifically addresses Kia Sportages with the diesel engine.

A/c vent only works on side vents and there is a clicking noise
Hi Judith, you'll need to take the left an right lower dash panels an lay on the floor an follow the clicking noise, it's a bad actuator of one kind or another not sure how many are on this one ! Take those panels off an listen an reach you hand up there an you'll feel it. Two or three screws hold it in place.

Where is the mode actuator in kia sportage 2006
Hi Judith , that clicking noise is annoying ! That's what there do when there wore out, just plastic gears inside. It is located under the dash left side I'll add a picture of it's location. You will probably have to take some kind of panel off on the left side under the steering wheel .Have to lay on floor to look up under the dash to see it. Once you do that you can reach you hand up and feel the actuator clicking,

Dash lights out
check the internal fuse block. there may be a map to the fuses on the cover that tells you what each fuse supplies power to. more than likely the dash lights have their own fuse that is blown, some times this happens when a bulb goes out but doesn't completely blow.

Heater A/C blower runs all the time
One of cpl things most likely the blower control switch stuck in high or the blower motor shorted in high last thing a short in the wire. Would suspect the actual blower motor 1st.
