Now that it's freezing outside, I'm having problems with the driver's side door. I can open the door from the outside and inside, but when I try to shut the door, it bounces, and won't latch. Sometimes pushing the lock button up and down repeatedly will help, but I don't want to have to do that all the time all winter. What can I do to make sure the door will shut and latch?
Same issue with 2000 Sable. Sometimes a few slams will get it to work. Hoping somebody has opened up a panel while it's not working to see if it's a frozen rod or cable?
My 2000 Sable does it evey winter - all 4 doors. I have found spraying WD 40 into the latch on the door works quickly to allow you to close the door.

An oragne circle that looks kind of like a gear with teeth and an exclamation point in the middle of the circle is flashing. What does this warning mean.
this usually indicates a gearbox fault. take it to a garage and they will plug a laptop into the vehicle and tell you what exactly the fault is.
hope this helps.

I would like a diagram showing it's location as we don't know where it is.
Also Can it be cleaned?
yes the passages can be cleaned. They pass exhaust gas into the intake maniflod for reburning.
It could be the DPFE that controls the EGR too. Diff. Pressure Feedback EGR.
there is also a vacuum regulator valve and a solenoid too.
Please rate as fixya if this helps.

Where is O2 sensor circut bank1 sensor 2. And bank 2 sensor 2
Bank 2, sensor 2 is at the bottom of the engine as you look in from the bumper. It is installed in the exhaust pipe just below the catalytic converter. The bank 1, sensor 2 is at the same location on the back of the engine below the firewall.

firing order for a 2000 mercury sable
The Sable for that year came with 2 different engines. Both are 3.0's but one of them is a duel overhead cam. Below are pictures for both. I hope this helps you and good luck.

What type of coolant to use for a 2002 Mercury Sable.
It should say on the overflow bottle to use Dexcool only if it is Dexcool and if it does not say anywhere then it should be just the plain old green antifreeze. If it is Dexcool use only Dexcool do not mix any oyher type with it and remember to never open the radiator cap on a hot engine let it cool down first.

2000 Mercury Sable Fuse diagram
Hello, to get the complete wiring schematic for 2000 Mercury Sable need to
contact the dealership or auto electric companies that specialize in auto
electrical systems.
Now, if don't know which fuse is which then look in
your own manual or on inside of the lid for the fuse box. American auto
manufactured do use relays for some circuits and where they are located on any
automobile is the preference of auto makes.
You auto manual should have a
diagram of the fuses and what each fuse represents. If not then purchase an auto
repair manual of your specific auto. GB...stewbison

I have a 2000 Mercury Sable LS Sedan with a 24V 3.0L Duratech engine. My AC Compressor went out and I need to know please if there is a bypass serpentine belt and what size it would need to be. I am aware of the dummy pulley, it is not what I need though. Is it possible to put a shorter belt on this engine? Thanks :)
I had to do the same thing on my Toyota Avalon. I used a flexible cloth measuring tape to measure around the pulleys (minus the A/C, of course). I had to cut the pulley off the Avalon A/C compressor because of interference issues. You may or may not have to do the same.
