Problem with power seats
if the power windows an hour she controls do not work if its all built into one switch on a driver door it could possibly be the main control switch panel on the door or there's a possibility that a body control module is bad I have run across that issue with a couple of different vehicles as well so the best thing to do would be try replacing the switch on the door itself if that doesn't work you would have to find a shop with the right equipment to diagnose on which control module is bad
Im looking for auto repair manuals
At auto parts stores, Haynes Repair Manuals are priced at about $26. Public libraries often have a good number of repair manuals. A few libraries offer on-line auro repair information from, I think, Mitchells, which is good, but it's a subscription service.
Where is the thermostat on 2000 Mercury Sable ?
Anmar. It won't be the thermostat...Sable and Taurus have a design problem. The heater core hose going into heater core from water pump gets plugged up right at the heater core bypass junction. At Hardware store..Buy hard plastic hose/tubing about 4ft long that just fits inside of the heater core hose. My ACE hardware has white hard tubing. Cut one end of the hard tubing at angle to use it as a reamer inside the heater core hose. Now place the hard tubing on top of heater hose to measure the distance on hard tubing it has to travel up to firewall . Mark with black marker on hard tubing. Remove the heater core hose from top of water pump and slide hard tubing in hose all the way up to where the bypass connection is feeling the obstruction...rotating the hard tubing as you gently shove it thru heater core hose. Slide it back and forth and keep rotating it until you feel it go past the Bypass junction...10 min at least. Now take off the heater hose from engine on driver side that comes from the heater exit side...Use garden hose high pressure and back flush the crud out. Re connect hoses, add fluid to reservoir as needed. Or take to shop and have them do this. Many shops just back flush...Have them do BOTH! Buy the plastic tubing ahead of time so they have no excuse. I have been doing this on my 98 Taurus since 1999. Done many of these...If you haven't changed thermostat for 4 years ...Change that as well. You tube has videos. Email me at
[email protected] I promise you hot air...from the car!
I went to have my car scaned, but showed to many trouble codes 10 codes in all! my problem I'm having is the engine has an intermitting miss, either at idle or rolling down the road! smooths out then
Wow....Well a leak at convertor can cause all engine management sensors to read lean mixture, then they all compensate by richening up mixture causing your problems. Start with the simple. Check the ribbed tube leading from air filter box to intake. It may have cracks open on bottom of hose you can't see from above. If it does, replace, get them at local junk yard as well as new.(Cracks or breaks when changing air filter) Check the 2 connections plugged into that same tube, make sure not leaking/have tight fit. Check all plug in connections all over the engine to make sure none are loose. Fix the leak at convertor. After leak fixed, remove battery negative cable for 2 minutes and put back on. This will clear codes fixed pertaining to leaking convertor....Now have your computer check on fault codes again. Auto parts stores do this for free! Write down all fault codes showing faulty. I imagine you will have some or all of your 3 exhaust sensors above the converter showing bad. These you can replace at about $45 each. If so Search each of your fault codes online (FIX 2000 MERCURY SABLE FAULT CODE# ) There are You tube videos on how to replace. One of the exhaust sensors is close to back of transmission, repaid from above laying blanket over engine to reach. Pull off Batt cable again for 2 min, put back on. This resets fault code and engine management system. Give it a ride to auto parts store again for code fault testing. Write it down if still bad. Two more things, EGR valve, EGR pressure sensor next. I will check back later.
I have a 2000 mercury sable and recently it
For the sputter, Could be a tune up. First I would clean the throttle body(inside of it, use a tooth brush and brake clean) and spray the mass air flow meter(located by the filter on the air induction tube). A lot of times this will take care of sputtering. If not, plugs and wires. For the transmission, there is a fuse for it in the relay box under the hood. Check your owners manual for the location of it in the box. Pull it out and look to see it is not blown. Putting it back in gets rid of corrosion problems. If that doesn't work, have the codes read. You may have internal transmission problems.
Is there a way to brighten my head unit display
Yes there is. you will need 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, and some polishing compound. Use water and sand it . Then polish it with the compound. It will take a little elbow grease/ Muscle to get them brighter.,
