find a real ASE shop, they have real tools.
it is bad.
or the ABS lamp would go out. that is a fact.
if all shops are tool less, in town find a real jeep dealer.
they will scan it and the DTC codes will be there. I promise.
do the ABS work if you skid a wheel, on grass, gravel, dirt etc.
slowly.??? feel the pulsing pedal.. if not ABS is shut down.
USA answer.
the brakes will still work right if the brakes really are good.
but what if the ABS sees a brake issue the test driver can detect.?
like loss of rear brakes. (fronts are 80% and loss of rears might go unnoticed, keep and open mind, and don't guess.
what if a the emergency brakes were messing up, causing ABS to fault.
all this is really just spectulation
why not scan it with a real scanner, to see all codes.
try the Innova 3160 (even walfart sells it) (most stores do)
mine does my ABS, the abs scans are unique and need a tool
that matches your car, check there pages (online) for if your car is supported for ABS. (my JK is)
your car is KJ. Jeep
read the FSM KJ chapter 5 yet?
here is a list of the Cxxxx codes you are missing
the Innova tool is cheap, why a shop cant afford a $100 amazes me.
here is what ABS it does support (official list)

SCAN IT , then wonder.
or buy the tool , new with car, (savvy owners)
then when car messes up and your mech, is clueless?
whip out your tool, and say, eva seen one of these????? LOL
