When cold, trans when put into drive is in 3rd gear. you can manually put in low and shift manually, seems ok. shifts perfect when warm. thanks for your help, Bob

Quite often changing the transmission fluid will correct such a problem especially if it is a high-mileage car.

Heater blower wont engage

I have the same problem with my '99 Vehicross. It used to work intermittently, but now it never works. The first step would be to check the fuses. They are on the driver's side, behind a removable panel. There is a chart that shows what each fuse is for, but it does not identify the fan fuse But If they all check out good, that will eliminate he fuse as the problem. The power to the fan comes from the ignition switch wiring harness, and it should be a blue wire. My problem started after I did something with the ignition switch, so when I get the time, that's where I will focus my attention. You'll have to pull off the plastic shrouding to access it. I don't have a wiring diagram, but I assume that the blue wire goes to the heater control switch. If you have power to the blue wire, then it could be in the heater control unit or the fan itself. This should give you some places to start looking. I hope it's something simple like a loose wire connection. Good luck.

How to start 92 npr diesel in cold weather

You will probably need some Ether based starting fluid. You may have to remove air filter to shoot a 2 second blast into the intake - but first try shooting the air intake with the 2 second blast and start vehicle. Diesel fuel tends to thicken in cold weather and a fuel additive like Lowes diesel fuel treatment may help keep your fuel fluid in colder weather. In cold weather, like on a night of clear skies causing low temperatures, a block engine heater will help to keep your fuel fluid - along with the diesel treatment. Block heaters are not too difficult to install depending on your vehicles configuration and how much room you have at a freeze plug, and are well worth the cost.
Hope this helps and please rate my solution!!

The hood latch release on

There is only one way to do it short of getting a crowbar in there. Get some coat hangers, if you have a cordless drill or a drill motor, twist the hanger in the drill a bunch of times to stiffen up the wire, then put a hook on the end and go fishing, get a light, and go to the left, try to find the catch and trip, it can be done. It might take you an hour, but it is the only way. Once you get it open, you can find out what happened to the cable. Might have slipped. Some cars have a hidden button or hole that you just punch the wire in and it will pop open. You have to look real close for it. One way to do it is get a van just like yours next to it so you can see what you need to hit. Hope this helps.

What is a knock sensor

here goes for a 1 Tu. this sensor detects detonation in the engine caused by a dirty piston head dirty valves and valve train. When it detects this detonation it tells the computer to ****** the timing so it does not burn a hole in the pistons, at the same tie it tells the computer this the computer adjust the fuel mixture ratio to decrease hot soak detonation which can occur after running the engine getting it hot and turning it off for 5 minutes and causing the gas to pre ignite due to the heat of the engine. This device is made of piezoelectric material which generates a voltage due to sound running threw the knock sensor, Ceramic disks wafered together and it has a preset low and high voltage low voltage is 1.0 DC VOLTS high is 4.0 volts dc WITH 5 VOLTS DC as a reference voltage for testing purposes. to see if it is working tap near the knock sensor and if it is working you will notice a variation in the running of the engine as it changes timing and fuel mix to stop detonation.

1999 vehicross transmission is not shifting

If the vehicle is running the strength of the battery should not matter. Start the vehicle, while it is running disconnect the negative battery cable. If the vehicle dies you need to replace your alternator. If it doesn't then you have another problem that a transmission tech will need to look at.

I have a blown engine in a Vehicross was wondering

that is a good question, have you checked to see if the wiring harnesses are the same? how about the motor mounts? and the transmission are they compatible? if the wiring harnesses are the same and all specs match I would say that would be a go. That is if your up for the challenge, this is how we all learn.

My problem is the suspension

Bouncing cars usually mean you are in need of new shocks. The stabilizer has nothing to do with bouncing (just cornering and handling stability, torque-throw,etc).
