Volvo is very good make and reliable engine just do the basics and look after it with oil changes filters and stuff like that there's no reason why it should fail also check if cam belt has been done if it is fitted with cam belt that is

weak oil pump blocked oil filter or oil ways try using flushing oil and then change the filter

may be short of gearbox fluid or tick over may be to high

air in the system or short of fluid loose drive belt or the power steering pump warn

its a bad ignition switch. the column lock will need to be drilled out and replaced. most likely the electrical portion will need to be replaced as well. You have to get the column lock assy. ordered from the dealer and it takes a few days to get it since it has to come from sweden.

Hi sorry but you will need to repair fault firstly as air bags self test every time you switch ign on you will need to scan for faults , the most comon fault is seat belt pretencioners under front seats hope I helped cheers Ron.

There should be a cold start solenoid to put gas int o the manifold to cold start, it might be inoperable. This is the choke for a fuel injected engine.

I recently took my car in for this problem. The thermostat was replaced a year ago. This time they replaced the thermostat and the IAT (air intake temperature sensor). The thermostat was 20 and the IAT was 50, with labor it all came to $140. Most sites online that I found suggested replacing both the sensor and the thermostat at the same time. When the thermostat goes, it usually takes the sensor with it. So I'd have them replace your sensor too. Good luck.

vacuum leak or idle air control

Have u checked earth leads? Could be cracked or broken.

your IAC valve, idle air control valve is under the black plastic cover on the front right corner on the engine, remove cover undo valve, renew gasket and re install. ade 13 years volvo tech

the battery is located on the right side of the hood.

Hi I think you have inderpendent coils you will have to get them from g.s.f or euro car parts

the fuse is right in front of the cover for the spark plugs.
