If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking, at the times when it won't start, and the relays are clicking and buzzing, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what controls that. ECU is likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem typical of early 90's jeeps. Reasonably priced repair or replacement services for your jeep ECU are available on ebay.

ok ... i presume you have pressure tested it and there were no leaks in the system.
aside from a fuse there should be a relay for it as well. likely located in a fuse panel near the battery in the engine compartment.

Stokkee, if you find out, could you let me know? I have the same problem! I have a friend who used to work for the dealership, that said he could not even start to tell me how, because it is in the overhead console, the dash and under the hood, and everything is interconnected, and he was afraid my jeep would not run again. I agree it is frustrating. I have kicked a lot of stuff around because of it.

What I have started doing, is I lock all the doors with the electronic lock button, then I open the driver door manually, then I lock it from the outside, or lock it by hand from inside, so the alarm is not activated. I forget now and then, and open the passenger door, and it goes to honking. It is easy to stop, but still makes me mad.

likely a track bar...Have you tried slowly jacking up the front end. As geometry of components changes you may find one point where it lines up.

That likely means that you've blown a Head Gasket. Don't drive the car any further. You can seriously damage the engine. You'll need some pretty serious engine work done. You may have a loose or dirty battery connection. Take of the cables and clean the battery lugs and the terminals. Make sure they are tight when you put them back. Check the connections on the starter as well as the ingnition comes from there. Disconnect the earth cable first and put it on last, this is to prevent heavy shorts that can cause some damage.

Did you check if the fan starts up when the car has warmed up? The switch may have stopped working. Otherwise clean out the radiator and the outside. Make sure the thermostat is opening, even though it is new doesn't mean that it works. Start from cold and hold the top hose, it will get hot suddenly if it opens. Make sure all the hoses are clear and not collapsed inside.

Look for a crack in the distributor cap or the coil where the cable comes out. you are losing the spark somewhere between these two.

you have to check vacuum canister and vacuum lines. when a vacum line is cracked or canister has a crack you cant control air directing doors in hvac system, becasue engine creates vacuum and this canister is connected to vacuum lines and you can only control hvac system when vacuum exist on electric panel equipped Ac systems, you do not need vacuum to control blending doors. there are electric motors.

your ac drip line is clogged, its a small tube that runs down the firewall that allows built up condensation from the unit to drain from the vehicle, its easiest to locate if the car is placed on a lift ,, but if thats not an option, you have to get under the vehicle, and locate that small tube,, normally they are towards the passenger side , yet near the middle of the vehicle,, DO NOT try and clear the clog with air pressure as it will just make the clog worse,, use a stiff wire, and gently work it up into the hose,, be ready for a flash of water to come out,, , once the clog is loosened the water behind it will push the clog out, so be ready to get a little wet
