To get at the speaker, you need to remove the rear window shelf trim panel - Remove rear seat lower by lifting from front; Remove bolts holding rear seat back and remove seat back; Remove the seat belt retractors; Remove the push in retainers from the cross car beam; Lift up on the front of the shelf panel to disengage the hook and loop material; then do the same at the rear of the panel, and pull out the shelf. The speaker is now accessible for removal.

A problem with the theft system has triggered the service test system light.

The best thing to do is going to the nearest dealer place and performing a theft system learning, some theft system malfunctions may end up with the car not starting.

Here the learning procedure:

1. Pit ignition ON keeping engine OFF.
2. Turn key to start the engine, then release the key to ON position (the car will not start).
3. Wait for the security info to end. It will last about 10 minutes.
4. Put ignition OFF the ignition, and wait 5 ten seconds.

Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times f 3 times in less than 30 minutes

The vehicle will be ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code next time the ignition is turned from OFF to START (crank )
Turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle and start the engine so that the vehicle will learn the Passlock data again

You may need to jump the battery or to use a charger as the procedure may drain the battery.

If that does not work go to the dealer. They will scan and reset security system and perform a re learning using a diagnostic tool.

A rather involved job . air cleaner ,computer, coolant overflow tank all have to be removed, some wiring has to be removed. you will have to recheck and make sure every thing is reconnected,

Use the on/off (left) button on your rearview mirror. Unfortunately, this will also turn your compass off.

Generally speaking, if the security light is on and the engine will not crank, the VATS system is not reading the chip in the key.Either the chip has failed, or the sensor in the lock cylinder, or the VATS module. You could try a spare key but most times you have to have a shop make the repairs.

You might have more luck checking on audio shops. You have to bypass the pass lock system to install remote start, many stereo shops should have experience with this.

Place a piece of cardboard between the cable and the stud to ensure no electrical connection remains.

2 Turn the headlights on for several seconds to use up any stored power, then return them to the "off" position.

3 Remove the cardboard and reconnect the battery cable by reversing the previous steps. The ECM has been reset to a clean state.

GM uses a Passkey system - your ignition system recognizes any key that is specially coded to your vehicle. If the key you are using is not the key for your vehicle, or your key is damaged, or the vehicle Passkey system is not working properly, the key will not turn. You should have at least three keys for this vehicle - two regular keys and a valet one. If all of them won't work, the problem is in the steering column. If you only have one key, take it and the vin number from your car to a GM dealer and get them to cut a new one and try that. If that doesn't work, you may have to get the car to a dealer for repair. You can also check for an ignition switch recall for your car, but that's a long shot.

You need to either buy new connectors or find the live and neutral wires and match them up with the stereo.

does the temp gauge rise higher than normal ? the radiATOR COOLING FAN MAY NOT BE CUTTING IN . No heat at idle would also suggest the thermostat isn't opening correctly , so two things to check out
